Taste All That Money?

As I'm writing this to you this right now, I'm kind of hungry so thought we could combine some food and cash tonight. You See...

In my hometown of Chicago, we have what's called the Taste of Chicago going on every year.

This basically is a combination of a carnival, food samples from restaurants throughout the area, music and more.

Now your town may even have one of these annual events. There is music, beer tents and food booths.

Now the Taste of Chicago is Huge (roughly 1.5 million people hit the taste this year) and these small town events are usually small. However...

They usually have something in common.

What is it?

They make you buy tickets to purchase beer and food.

You can still walk around these events and smell the food, but you can't walk in the tents without buying your tickets.

Now here's where one small towns "taste" puts them ahead of the rest.

Maybe they can't beat over a million people but you may be shocked in a second how many people they did pull into their event this year. Now Naperville...

Has an annual event called the "RibFest". They charge 15 bucks just for you to walk in the door. Not tents, just to walk in and see anything.

Plus you are looking at usually about 10 bucks or more for parking. This isn't even counting tickets for rides, food, drinks and more.

Now no one would pay to walk into something like this right? I mean there's tons of free events, why pay just to walk in to this one. Well...

Guess how many people attended this little paid annual event?

According to the Daily Herald...

Roughly 150,000 people attended this 5 day event.

15 bucks times 150,000 people is over 2 million bucks. Not even counting ticket sales.

Now you may be find all this interesting but wondering how it could help your business, right?

Well...

Look at your industry or niche now. Is there a way you could turn your product or service into an event.

Can you make this a wonderful experience for your future and current customers and tie this event back to your business.

It doesn't have to be a paid event, but maybe creating an event that could tie the community and your business together.

Now maybe you don't want to throw a big event right now.

What else can you learn from this little lesson today?

Look at how they took the normal festival and not only niched it to "ribs", they also went against the normal ways of doing things and charged just to walk in the door.

Man, my stomachs growling talking about all this food, so before I go and grab something to eat, let me ask you...

What are some "normal ways" of doing business in your field that you can go against and turn your industry upside down? A way that puts more money in your pockets?

Once you truly uncover that, see how fast and easy your business can start attracting the crowds of hungry customers you desire.
