One single line to increase your cold email response rates AGAIN

Hey guys, here's another little trick you can use to get the most out of your cold emails.

I bought a new phone recently (Galaxy S4 and it's incredible!) and I finished setting up my email account on there. I was replying to a client's email when I noticed it had auto-inserted 'Send from my Samsung'. That got me thinking...one of the main reasons business owners won't reply to cold emails is because they have twigged it's a random marketing message not an email specifically to their business. That's why sending a second email works - I've had several business owners come back and say 'Ah I'm sorry for not replying, I thought it was a message sent out from a random marketing machine'.

So this trick is simple. Add 'sent from my iPhone/HTC/samsung to the end of your cold emails (I imagine it will be more successful on shorter emails where they are more likely to read to the bottom, I keep mine fairly short). Because who would send out a bulk email marketing campaign from their phone? Makes your message seem that much more legit/personal.

Enjoy!

There was a WSO a year or so ago that mentioned this tip. This little nugget could have saved others a nice gwap. Thanks for the reminder. I'm going back thru my emails to try this.

Intresting tip which I will try. But wouldn't personalizing the email defeat this concept?

Also a great way to send out emails on the go when you see a business you could help with your service. Maybe even send a pic to show you were really there

Sorry for the slow reply, had a few days away. This idea won't really work for personalized emails because of course it's a personalized email so you don't need to make it seem more personal...it's really for bulk emails that sound personal without actually mentioning the company name ("Hi there, I saw your website and I noticed you guys didn't have...").

    Hope it helps!

This reminds me a little of the "blackberry email" that one of the founders of salesforce I believe, talks about. Something along the lines of a very short personal sounding email asking "Can you direct me to the person in your organization that handles this". Idea is to send to the ceo or senior mgt directly. The benefit of course is that you have a chain of conversation to the ceo visible when you contact the person you were referred to. He claimed he got double digit response rates. Any one ever try this method?

Interesting idea, but doesn't it seem a bit unprofessional? Sending business emails from your iphone just doesn't do it for me personally.
