I am lost, need Keyword Planner help

7 replies
Whatever I try to do with the new Keyword Planner, I get one suggestion/search result only, no suggested keywords at all. What am I doing wrong?

Need your help or a suggestion for another tool that is free (if possible).

Thanks in advance, Eva

    Really? Are you as lost as I am or do you keep the knowledge to yourself? I know this is the "offline" section so maybe I've posted it in the wrong section?

    Please help if you can, Eva

      Ha! You found the loop. What you seek is close by though:

      Sign in. Click on Adwords. Click on Tools and Analysis. Click on Planner. Click on one of the 3 options. Search for keyword ideas gets you some keywords with ppc amounts and traffic, but you can only give it 50 keywords to work with. Enter or upload lets you give hundreds and hundreds. You enter your keywords, scroll to the bottom of the page and choose what you want to get. Option a gets you estimates. Option b gets you search volume.

      PS If you want exact match, each word you type in here has to be in quotation marks. If you want phrase, in brackets. Just plain words, no punctuation gets you the broad match.

    I am not sure what you are doing wrong but here is a brief video that I found that seems to do a simple step by step on how to use the keyword planner tool.

    Without knowing what you are doing when you are using it, it is kind of hard to tell you what to do right to get it to work properly.

    No problem, the planner is different in the layout but the overall steps are very similar to the old keyword tool. There are some nice new features to the planner, like being able to add ad groups to the planner and then download all of your targeted keywords separated into the various groups you create. This is awesome for breaking your keyword lists into primary, secondary and LSI keywords.

    Eva, if you have any more questions, put the on this thread and I will see if I can help.

      Yes, I noticed. Found this;

      This is probably not so much for you but for everyone else that is perplexed,
