How to Get Prospects To Respond to Cold Emails

Hey Guys,

If you are trying to market your offline services by
sending cold emails and not having any luck here's
what works for me ...

Make your Initial Email very short and ambiguous

For example

If you are targeting Realtors

Don't Say

"Hi my name is Jack and I specialize in websites for
Realtors and I can get you on the front page of google
blah blah blah"

you will be lucky if 1% respond

Instead simply say
"Hi are you still doing Real Estate?"
35 - 50% will respond and they will usually
have their phone number and contact info in their
sig file

you see they don't know who you are. You could be
someone who wants to buy real estate

when they respond hit them back with another very
short email
"Hey thanks for responding. Sorry to bother you. I work
with a lot of realtors to help them increase their business
May I send you a short email with information?'

Some will drop off but a good percentage will say
"Sure send info"

Sending info in bite size pieces after an initial short
ambiguous email will ALWAYS outperform sending
everything up front.

at least that's how it has worked for me

When they respond to your initial email they are almost
obligated to respond to your next email because anything
else would be rude

I've done this with Realtors, Ive done it with Restaurants,
I've done it with Contractors, etc etc. and it works every tine

If I am targeting a specific niche I will set up a series of
canned responses in Gmail to move the prospect through
the process until they say "Not Interested" or stop responding

Try it .. it works

Jack

I know this thread is from almost 2 years back but I have to say this information is valuable. Getting the first response is crucial because as they say the first impression is the most important!

Thanks for bringing this post back to life, as I knew that I heard or read about this "little email in/ trick" and searched Hi and Lo for about a year now, and couldn't find this brilliant email intro UNTIL NOW!

You saved me from having an aneurism!

      Cheers,

      JMB

No problem! I'm glad I brought it up.

I haven't really tried cold emailing for my new campaign but I'm sure it has a lot of potential.

I have found the best success is when you look like you're doing them a favour or even could potentially be a buyer, I have had good success with using subject lines like 'Question' and thats it.

    Good ideas here......

I think many newbies try to push their offer/product/service way too soon....getting a quick no on the phone or a quick click to spam folder via email.

Sales is a process....clients have to want or need your service , or you have to be able to make them want it. Connecting with them, developing a sales process is so important JMO
