Linkedin for lead gen?

Was just talking to a pretty successful marketer and he says that messaging targeted prospects on Linkedin has been his best source of leads. He says he gets 10% response to his messages on the low end.

Just wondering if anyone else has been using it and what your experience has been. Thanks.

i use it for article writing. i get about 10% response to my very short message. it's all about targeting the right people. you really can't just spam everyone even with something as easy needed as content writing services as i recently learned. lol

    1. use advanced search and set criteria of prospect profile u want to reach
    2. visit a few profiles to see which groups they a member of
    3. join niche groups that members who fit your profile are a member of
    4. goto group, click on MEMBERS tab, scroll down and connect with members asking
to connect as u both share same group

(They are more likely to want to connect when they see that they share a group with you )

    hope that helps

I currently have a bunch of connections on LinkedIn that are in the niche that I am targeting. My struggle is, now that i have them what do I do with them? I don't want to send them a message selling them on anything. I want to give them something first in the way of a free report or something. I am just having trouble deciding what I want to do.

I know others have had success but when I was doing more offline marketing, I tried a variety of methods in several niches that supposedly worked but never got much of a response. None involved spamming. Most of the groups seemed to filled with people posting stuff just to get people to see their blog posts and when we contacted people askine legitimate questions or offering something free (like others have done) the responses were quite low.

  • Everybody says to tailor the LinkedIn message to the individual, but in my experience this is almost never done. It's usually a copy and paste "since we are in the same group" BS spam job.
