First you have to get one good billing system which will mange all this thing like WHMCS or HostBill both are good ..because it will mange your client payments , invoices and all other thing ..

It has in build option of paypal subscription ..so it will automatically charge you client month after month for your server ..until they cancel you sever and payment ...these billing system will allow many payment gateway in build ..

For card payment processing i will suggest quantumgateway. or 2checkout ... and there are promo you can find to test there service ...

IF you main concern about payment gateway then you can start with

2checkout they are better then Authoriz.net

You can try to integrate http://stripe.com and use FreshBooks - Online Invoicing, Accounting & Billing Software or use Subscription Billing and Recurring Billing Experts | Recurly which is a very respected service but can cost some money!

You might want to consider using membership script like amember or wordpress plugin like wishlist member, DAP or Instamember, they will integrate your website with your chosen payment gateways.

PayPal is what I use. Use the "Enhanced Recurring Payments for PayPal Payments Standard includes everything you need to process regular recurring payments, automatic billing, and installment plans on your site." Allows you to bill customers who don't have PayPal accounts, and billing with variable monthly charges (you have to process manually). There's a $19.99 monthly charge but it's worth it in my estimation.

Why not get draft via check?

There is a thread on here that breaks it
down for you.

You basiclly get a check from them once
and just draft that every month.

No Paypal no merchant account.

I use Paypal for my subscription service. If you pay $19.95 per month, your clients do not have to have a Paypal account to subscribe. Otherwise they'd need to setup a Paypal account to subscribe to your service if they didn't have one. Many offline businesses probably do not. My theory has always been the less a client has to do to get something done the more likely things will get done.

I went into my Paypal account and tried to find the name. Business something and it's $19.99 not $19.95, but if you call Paypal and tell them what you want to do they'll help you set it up.

If you have a web design business already, you should have reseller hosting anyway. See if your host provides a license for WHMCS which you can then set up for all the automated and recurring billing, plus it provides your customers a way to login and see all their invoices anway. It integrates with PayPal, authorize.net and stripe is designed exactly what you want to do.
