Video Marketing to local businesses

Sidestepping the messy red-tape when it comes to Animoto as discussed here many time before by others -- Animoto wants you to pay $500 to use their site to create videos to sell to other businesses. What if you just use Animoto's basic plan to create the video, then give the video away free to businesses that PAY for your optimization and first page ranking services? Is that little tweak still a problem?

    You'll have to double-check with Animoto's TOS, but I don't believe that the "basic" plan allows you to distribute your videos to 3rd parties, even if it's for non-commercial purposes. It's been a while since I've read their terms though, so you'll need to double check that. Also, I believe that their "basic" plan leaves an Animoto watermark on the videos.

    Another option is ProShow Producer (desktop software). It can produce Animoto-like videos very easily, with just a few mouse clicks (via the "wizard"). And it's just a one-time fee for unlimited use (even commercial use). I'm not affiliate with them in any way... just a satisfied customer.

      I will second that. It makes pretty good videos and I use it a lot. If you really need something more intricate, go to Fiverr...

    Agreed.

    I'd skip out on Animoto all together.

    There's several free or low cost video creators.

    In fact, there's a few PPT templates that create some top notch videos and can be replicated for as many clients as you'd like.

      I do TV commercials every day. Most business know the power of TV and web commercials. They want to show themselves and their products. We've offered slideshows for a couple of years, they always opt for real video over a proshow slideshow. It's just not as good.
