Overcoming Prospect Fears Of Lost Money!

Hey guys,

I specialize in video SEO for local business owners. What I do is rank a sample video for a particular term and sell the space to the lucky business owner. (with there own video of course)

Now today I was speaking with a prospect and I told him if I was able to rank him for a term without him paying me would I earn his business.

Price was a factor of course, then said he's spent tens of thousands for all kinds of "marketing" services but NO results.

I COMPLETELY understand wheres he's coming from though. Being burned several times, promised the moons and stars.

What can I do to put the risk ALL on myself and overcome this trust objection?

Your thoughts would be appreciated!!!

Go to CallFire and register to get a Phone Number you can use in the Title of the Video....make sure the Phone # is IN the Title (DenverPlumber 602-555-1234 Call Now!) and...direct the number TO your Client's Phone.

Put this Title also on the 1st line of Description and at least 3 more times.

Put Title and Phone # in Tags also.

Put YT Url of Video in last line of Description

Create a Channel in YT with Keyword Name.

    UpLoad Video.

Go to fiverr to get some Backlinks.

Go to BulkPing.com and PingDevice.com to get "pinged".

Then....watch your CallFire account to see when calls start coming into the number.

Ohhh....make sure to have CallFire place a "whisper" on the calls. The phone will ring your clients phone and when phone is picked up a voice will say; "Here's another Lead from Smith Marketing!"....then the voice drops out and phone connects caller.

Mark Helton has a great instruction WSO for Ranking & Optimizing Videos. I forgot what WSO though.

When your potential client starts getting some calls from Bonafide Prospects....you can pretty much Name Your Fee!

    Best of Success to you,

Hi Keith....got your PM however, my mailbox is loaded and so I'll try and respond here.

You said you don't yet have a Video and you want to "sell" them a Video with you taking photos and personalizing it with their Logo, Name & Contact info. This is called "Branding" the video.

What you are wanting to do is different than what I thought. I thought you already had a PLR Video so.....here's what I did a few yrs ago.

I went to the owner of the finest restaurant in town and asked her if I could make a video of her business....at totally NO obligation. All I'd need to do is take some digital photos inside and out and a few plates of food.

I'd then make the video and bring it back to show her....again, at absolutely NO obligation.

        Would that be OK?

She agreed and I went about snapping with my digital.

I then bought a portable DVD Player at Wally-World for $80....made a Video with the free Video Editor from Microsoft called PhotoStory3. Added some Beethoven for background music.....Burned a DVD and went back.

Put the portable dvd player on her deck and turned it on.

        She LOVED it.

She asked for a few changes and aditions and I told her what I charge and that I usually get half down with the balance on the final video.

I then visited other restaurants in town....showed the owners the video I had made for (the best restaurant in town)....told them all I'd like to do now is.....get their permission to let me snap some digital photos and I'd make a video of their place....at NO obligation.

If asked, I NEVER mentioned a price. I figured that once they SAW a video of THEIR place....their EGO would force them to go ahead, no matter what the price.

        Sold a bunch of them.

Now....the other way of selling videos is to use one of Dave Cisnero's or Mark Helton's or Nick Mann's, PLR Videos for certain Niches.

I like the "service" niches (Plumbers, Roofers, House Painters, Pest Control) A phone call usually goes direct to the phone they're carrying.

Again...I chose, who I thnk is a good service co in a niche....put up a Video for him and when calls start coming in, I give him a call and tell him "TWAS I" and my video to cause those calls to come in....here's what I charge and....if I'm turned down....all I have to do is have CallFire re-direct my phone to an different biz in the same niche.

When you Brand a video and your client doesn't want it, you have to go thru all the work of creating another video....re-uploading and re-optimizing.

And....to do what you want to do I'd try and show at least ONE example of what you've done for another biz AND....get some money down.

First the smartest thing you can do is talk to
prospects who are willing to invest some money
to get results rather than beating yourself to
death with people who want to nickle and dime you.

But even in your post there are some clues.

" he's spent tens of thousands for all kinds of "marketing" services"

So you're going to provide your services and you're
going to keep working till you get him results but
you're not going to charge him upfront?

    Are you crazy?

    You're not running a charity.

Does it work like that in other businesses?

If I've bought chicken for 3 weeks and I
haven't cooked a decent dinner from that
chicken do I look for a grocery store that
    will give me chicken free?

If I've bought two cars that were lemons
from other dealers do I expect the next
car dealer to give me a car free?

YOU NEED TO CHARGE FOR YOUR SERVICES.

And if you charge upfront you force your
prospect to put value on your skills and your
    expertise.

If a prospect is not willing to pay you upfront
    then find another prospect.

The people who don't pay you upfront and try
to force you into some commission only deal
have no skin in the game.

They lose nothing if they don't work to make
sure the strategies you implement are followed
    up on.

I know of people who've produced a pile of
leads for businesses and the staff and owner
of the business simply didn't follow up with
those qualified leads in any kind of timely
manner ("I'll get to them next week when
    I'm not so busy").

Then they blame the marketer for not giving
them good leads because the prospect, tired
of waiting has taken his business elsewhere.

I've seen marketers who need an interview
or vital pieces of information or some kind
of co-operation from their client wait weeks,
even months to get the most basic things
    done.

    SCREW THAT!

Your skills and your time are valuable.

Charge your clients for them and they'll respect
    you and your time.

    Kindest regards,
    Andrew Cavanagh

While trying to build trust is so important, do not get used to doing things for FREE. It is going to stop you from believing in your services.

However, there are times when you can go and help those like your current customer to help build their professionalism, but be sure to learn about the different ways to get trust other than giving your services away for free.
