Knowledge is not sufficient all by itself.

You must also learn how to package yourself for corporate jobs.

Do you think Neil Patel sends in his resume to companies?

The more you differentiate yourself, the more value you'll have and the more people will be glad to pay you. And remember, big companies are run by people.

Be able to perform the tasks these jobs require at a high level:

If you can't you need to get training and hands on knowledge. You can do this working for another company or working for yourself.

    Learn to Network

Getting the good paying corp jobs is less about what you know and more about who you know. If Trust Employee says you are the social media god you will get an interview.

    Create the Position

This is what I did at my work. Over a 4 year period my job was modified to be more and more marketing and less selling. Does your current job need these services? If so get them to put them on your plate and deliver results. Once you have the title and results you can go into business for yourself or land a job at a larger company.

    The Best Work For Themselves

One thing you will learn is that the best work for themselves. Unless you get very lucky you will likely make more working for yourself vs. for a company as an employee.

Being a novice, what is the average one would charge per project? The project being a website.

I will purchase the book suggested this weekend to start learning.

Your BIGGEST skill to learn will be to learn to sell.

Jason (above) has some awesome resources on this.

Nah! That's the second one. The first one is to ask for money he deserves like he deserves it.

If you don't mind I'd like to do a bit of shameless self promotion. You may find the info you're looking for in my signature. I can't think of a better source for the info you're asking about.

You may also find out over time that you'd rather own your own company than work for someone else. But that will be up to you, of course. Good luck with your plans.
