People hate us on Yelp

Bolt Barbers is in the fast-growing hipster Downtown core in LA. They help define the area's personality with a new take on the barber shop. You can get a free beer, order a latte, play shuffleboard, get a shoeshine and watch sports. It has an old-fashioned look with an irreverent attitude.

While they had a good rating on Yelp, they decided to have fun with the negative reviews. They compiled them in a book called "People Hate Us On Yelp," and gleefully post the negative reviews on small signs on the front window. Here are some of them:

You might think this is just another example of LA's weirdness, but the owner has a corporate marketing background, and explains how it all came about:

Might not be for you, but they've defined their personality well, are in the right location and business is good.

Me? I go to a barber shop called Conair Clipper, which is located in my own house.

They say any press is good press but I don't know if that is always true.

The guy seems awfully arrogant and full of himself to me.

When I lived in Memphis there was a famous barbecue place everyone raved on. One of the things it was famous for was the rude waiters and how they would all but tell you to leave after you were through eating so they could seat more customers aka "make more in tips."

I only ate there once. It was in a business meeting and someone else was paying. Just something about paying an exorbitant price to be treated like shit didn't sit well with me.

While the arrogant and full of himself part could probably be said, awwww what the hell, for sure the same could be said of me, they aren't traits I find attractive in others. haha

Yes, by the way, I AM in the Witness Protection Program. I could tell you who I am but then I would have to kill you.

replying the to an old thread, but the loyalty card he talks about and the unlimited drinks is such a good idea.
