Low Google search volume - now what?

So I'm researching a clients niche and find that there are really low search volume for the main keywords in his area.

He's in IT Consulting and selling also hardware.

I will do a site overhaul what is not the problem but what should I do for monthly SEO in this case when his potential clients are NOT searching on Google?

I recommended BNI, local Chamber of Commerce, Meetup and whatsoever.

What would YOU do in this case for the monthly SEO?

    I would create helpful IT articles and videos. For the articles i'd mainly stick to lists to cut down on the time it takes to create them.

    But remember 1 well marketed article is worth a 1000 poorly marketed articles. Create quality, then let everyone know where to find it!!!

      well, video marketing is definitely on the "to do" list but Article Marketing (not a Bum Fan anymore) is a question mark.

      Maybe guest posting on other blogs has a better return, not sure.

      Press releases are another possibility but there must be something newsworthy to make a press release.

      Whatever I'll do, I will use the content and re-purpose it for other stuff like PDF sharing etc..

      Someone having a better idea, let it come.
