Looking for stories and testimonials from people who have used 9x12 or EDDM successfully.

Hello friend,

Yes, I am calling you a friend, even though I don't know you. I'm calling you a friend because I do know that you, like me, are a marketer.

What I'm looking for won't take too much of your time. And if you follow through this entire post, I will give you an offer to make some dough just for bragging about your success.

Sound good?

Great. Then listen up: I'm looking for people who have used the 9x12 system, or any other type of EDDM, successfully. What I am really looking for is testimonials of how wonderful it worked out for you, and more importantly, how well it worked for your client.

With your permission, I'd like to use these testimonials. I will only use first names if you'd like. The testimonials will be used on a landing page I am making for businesses local to my area. I plan to run some ads, email and perhaps even do a mini EDDM campaign for my EDDM campaign.

So back to you: if you could kindly share how well you've used your EDDM strategy, that would be great! Of course, the more details, the better. Here is an example:
Bob from Timbucktoo used an EDDM campaign to send 10,000 flyers for Picolo Pete's Pizza. Sales skyrocketed 582% during the month of the campaign and 3275 coupons were used.
Go ahead and contact Bob here (email/phone) and he will tell you about his campaign.
Now... if you agree to be reached out to, here's my offer: if you are contacted, and you convince them it's a good idea, I will give you 20% of the sale if it gets closed. Essentially what you are doing is providing 3rd party endorsement for potential clients in my area. And by doing so, you get a profit.

I DO plan to meet face-to-face. It's actually something I am looking forward to doing once I get a few things in place. In the meantime, a well done sales page will help me boost interest and get traction going.

Even if you don't want to share your story on my landing page... or are not willing to be contacted... I still would like to hear a story about your EDDM's success in this thread.

The thing about being contact and using your testimonial is just extra icing I think would sweeten my offer.

I will not use it unless I get your permission first.

That's all I wanted to say for now, friend.

Take it easy.

I'm not sure how willing other offline marketers will be to provide you with their customer testimonials. Keep your 20%, you'd be better off using your own. Don't over think this. Why not start off with a small scale campaign - do it for cost. Partner up with a local business, and explain to them that you want to launch a new service, and need positive reviews/testimonials for your new EDDM service. In return for for your services they agree to be a professional reference and their results data will be used for case study/marketing purposes.

I never understood why sales agents make pitches such as these:

... make some dough just for bragging about your success. Sound good? Great. Then listen up.

Maybe it's just me, but that's not appealing at all. It feels fake and you sound like a shady salesman who's trying to sell me an overpriced product I don't really need.

Why not get down the nitty-gritty. Just say it like a real person, who lives in a real world, and has problems just like everybody else?

We over-complicate this. Direct mail and postcards are a proven commodity. Small businesses get it. Just go for those that already shell out money on advertising. This is nothing more than bringing in a steady supply of new business. It's not brand building or anything else. It's the quickest path to the dollar. Money goes out, then it comes back and brings along its friends.

Okay. It was just an idea. Seems it won't work. No biggie. Moving on.
