How should I market my IT tutorial videos?

Hi,

I have an IT consultant business. I've started to create a series of 5 minute IT tutorial videos like, "how to clean your computer", "how to properly setup wifi", etc. Simple little tutorials to help my clients and readers.

How do I properly market these videos to hopefully gain new readers and leads.

Thank You,

Have an opt-in form and drip feed them through your autoresponder.

Get them on Youtube with your phone # in the title.

Transcribe them, assemble them into a Kindle book and get a nice cover made up for it.

Post one every few days on your LinkedIn and Facebook profiles. Follow-up link to more info/call to action/opt-in form.

Ask your market what problems they're having with IT and post your videos as appropriate answers.

Hey, just make sure you don't make things too complicated. It's easy to see all the advice here and be overwhelmed and never get any real results. I would follow Jason's advice to the word and I also suggest that you should take advantage of your video skills and create even more YouTube videos to create web traffic for your autoresponder. Honestly, I am a video amateur and I am amazed by how much traffic some of my terrible videos get. It is one of the last easy places to get web traffic that I know of. There was a time when Twitter was a crazy good way to get more web traffic for me. I met almost all of my first clients through Twitter alone and I didn't need anything else. If I had videos and I wanted web traffic without paying for it now then I would recommend YouTube.

I agree with all of the above and the easiest way to do it is by using WordPress
with OptimizePress it cost money but it's will worth it.
      I used it for years.

Actually, the people at Traffic Geyser teach the - "Transcribe your videos into a Kindle Book" and do the drip campaigns. We didn't find that to work that well.

We use video a little differently. Whilst the talking head approach is nice and has its purpose, we create short and long form documentary style content. The idea is to show the lifestyle of your content. Rather than you talking for 5 minutes, be "Bob Vila" and do a DIY program interviewing someone else actually experiencing/doing the same thing.

Bob Vila became the voyeur looking in on the expert rather than being the expert. While he is an expert, you don't feel like you are getting a "sermon" about the subject.

I call this the "video field trip" where you go on an adventure to explore the subject.

    Why it works:

I had the really cool experience of working for the producers of Reading Rainbow creating programs. People love to be guided on a tour. While you may have a great face and sexy legs, people need that adventure element to feel like they come back for something special.

I know it sounds weird, but the trust level of your viewer goes up when you are guiding the tour rather than being the tour subject. Simple reason. Just like advertising, people don't trust it as much. Get someone else to tell the story and the fact that you let go of the reigns and are not in the spotlight seems to build trust. Almost like posting someone else's blog and commenting on it.

I won't bore you with the film school reasons. But, using these simple techniques will skyrocket your content above the others out there.

I would suggest you include nude pictures of hot women (just kidding) but that is a subject for another time ;-)

I am the guy in the room that always has to ask why so here it is.
WHY are you doing 5 minute how to vids?
Is it because your just a nice guy or is it also part of your marketing strategy.
If part of your marketing strategy it should have a very specific and measurable goal.
Once we understand your goals we could help more.

If your not sure why your doing it and do not see a clear as day path to it achieving specific goals then you should consider if you should be doing it at all.
