Just Stay Focused On The Process

I've added a new "layer" / element to my sales process as it relates to my core business. I am holding free webinars, to targeted and pre-screened pros. Clearly the goal is to convert some into clients.

I realized today I had finally "ingrained" into my muscle memory something I've been working hard to ingrain. It's something the likes of Tiger Woods will swear by.

When Tiger tees up at a tournament, the goal is to win, but he's rarely thinks about "winning" until it's time to close.

He stays focused on the process. He knows that if his posture, grip pressure, and release are done 100% to the best of his ability on every single shot - he'll create more chances for him to win vs. his peers.

So, if you stay focused on the process and nailing it with every single contact you make with a prospective client, suffice it to say you'll find yourself more focused, and when sales "fall through" you won't be crushed.

As I work on this webinar, all I am focused on is making it memorable. I want guys up late tonight thinking about the stuff I share. If I accomplish that, I'm sure things will fall where they may.

if you stay focused on the process and nailing it with every single contact you make with a prospective client
...as long as you have a proven process.
And as long as you perform it perfectly.
    Like a concert pianist.

This also makes your work so much more enjoyable.

I met with a potential client today and it was obvious he was not ready to buy. He is in way over his head, has made huge financial investments in a business that is in trouble and could greatly be assisted by many of the things we offer but he is still living in the world of "Isn't Facebook Free?" and "We submitted our site to the Google thing".

Years ago I would not have enjoyed my day and the meeting because I would of already been unhappy that there would not be a sale at the end.

Today however I got to enjoy the company of a really nice guy that through no fault of his own has much to learn. I enjoyed learning about his business and enjoyed sharing some knowledge with him and parting as friends. I went through the process as you call it and did not really worry about the final outcome. If the desired result of a closed sale was possible it would of happened. The golfer can execute a perfect swing but the wind can gust throwing the ball off course. It does not mean the golfer should be unhappy about his swing or what he accomplished..

Of course it does not hurt that these days I have more options in who I choose as clients and one deal or another will not make or break me but I still wish I could go back 15 years and give myself a kick for not having taken more joy out of days that in retrospect turned out as well as they could under the circumstances.

Which platform are you using for conducting your webinars?

I've recently switched to Google Hangouts, and I am more than happy with the results. For the first Hangout I've had to do lots of research to make everything work, the second time everything was streamlined.

I'll be releasing the WSO on conducting webinars in February 2014, but I can tell you right now that Google Hangouts have 3 big advantages over GotoWebinar:
    1. They're free
    2. You're not limited to the maximum of 1,000 attendees, and
    3. The video and audio quality is considerably better, making it possible to make high-quality presentations.
