Making the leads then sell them?

For those who cold call to do appointment setting,
have you ever tought about simply selling the leads you didn't close to other businesses?

If so how did that work out for you?

It sounds like a nice addition to your funnel, especially if you're doing a high volume. but before considering selling the leads I would work a multitouch sequence lasting at least six months out, phone and voicemail marketing combined with mailings.

It's a bit of a long story bro...

It would be more accurate to say I've been on that boat for a while and I'm at a crossroad. There's really nothing set in stone.

No I wouldn't personally sell my leads to anyone. I generate leads for my business and if some of them aren't interested, I just leave them alone. However, my leads are still connected to me through my auto responder.

I had one lead who was on my list for about 6 months with a wrong phone number.

However, one day she had a change of mind and chose to get started with me in a previous biz opp online.

I made $10k that netted me $5,000 in profit. She came in and actually listened and did what I suggested she do to get her business off the ground.

After about a month, she made a $10K sale as well.

    And the thing is...

I never spoke to her over the phone because of our 10 hour time difference.

I'd say it depends on the type of leads you have. You could either keep them in your loop, or set it up so that they are sold to others. Selling to others is especially profitable if you are in a niche where vendors charge a lot for their services, and leads are valuable to them.

I met with a business connection I have that helped a service company set up a funnel that, if they turned down the offer, they would send letters of endorsement to a couple of other service providers in their industry, and then get paid for every lead they generated to those businesses. He said that tactic alone had made them about $2 million a year.
