"Up For a 10 Thousand Dollar Drink and a Marketing Lesson Together?"

I know it's only Thursday and early in the morning...

But thought you may be up for a drink with me. You see..

There's this place in Vegas that actually offers people a $10000 drink.

What's in it and what experience comes with it you may be wondering? Check This Out...

Ingredients: 1/2 oz Louis XIII black pearl cognac, 1/2 oz fresh squeezed orange juice, 1/4 oz apricot puree, 1/4 sence rose nectar, 2 ice cubes and 4 oz Charels Heidseck's 1981 Champagne.

The orange juice and apricot puree are mixed and poured into the custom champagne glass.

The champagne glass and Black Pearl cognac (served in its own custom-designed glass) are presented on a crystal tray along with a bottle of Charles Heidsieck's "1981 Champagne Charlie".

Although the alcohol is expensive, it's not worth ten thousand dollars. So how could they get away with that?

They created an experience with ordering the drink versus just buying an expensive drink.

The bonuses to this drink...

The "XS" pearl necklace and "XS" cufflinks are also presented on the tray in their respective boxes.

While the guests are blown away over their gifts brought along with it, the server opens the champagne and finishes building the drink by pouring the Black Pearl cognac and 4 oz. of champagne into the glass with the juice mixture.

Guess how many they sell a year?

We'll I did some digging and found out they sell around 2 a month. That's an extra $240,000 in the clubs pocket every year.

Vegas and this place definitely creates a whole other experience.

Now you may not be in Vegas or own a club, but there are some profitable lessons you can take from this though.

Think of something you're not offering now that could not only be more profitable for you and compliment your services or products, but also unique and gives the wow experience to your clients or customers.

Imagine just adding one higher priced service or product and so valuable you sold one or two of those a month.

How much happier would you and your bank account be?

They are an expensive club in Vegas anyways and there are other expensive clubs, but how could they think they can get away with that and offer the most expensive drink ever?

Because they gave themselves permission. Let me ask you...

What's your next 10 thousand dollar drink for your customers going to be?

You answer that and then maybe see you later for a drink.

It's a great example of several things:

    1. Profit wise, it's a slack adjuster.
    2. Publicity wise, it's pr worthy.
    3. Great example of how to add value to a commodity.
    4. Branding wise, it's wise branding.
    5. It's choreographing a service/product as performance art to enhance the consumer's experience.

they are selling status, not a drink. Target people w/ lots of money and create some exclusivity and you can actually benefit by charging more for more's sake.

It's the same at bellagio at a vip table where you can push a button I think for 10,000 and the fountains will blow for you.

Great post....I just added a $4K and $5K advanced consulting package and have already sold 2 in past 45 days. Normally everything was $750 to $2,500 range. :-)

Yup, they are selling (status, experience). The rich are the targets and the rich will pay for such things. You have to consider, how much those 2 products cost (the ones, that come w/ the drink) and then figure out their profits...

In some cases the hardest thing about selling something for more money is having
the balls to ask for it.
