How do I track my blog traffic accurate status?

I want to track my blog and want to know the actual traffic status. What is the best software that can provide actual traffic status but free.

    If you are using Wordpress, Benchmark Email has an easy to use plugin that tracks down all clicks (when and where) on your page. But the core of this plugin is that is combines blog with email marketing. It allows you to add a sign-up box to your blog page so readers can subscribe to your site, you can send out email-friendly versions of your blog straight to your readers’ inboxes too.

    But the great thing about creating a campaign is that you can create the content, give them a teaser of your most recent blog post, and include a link that directs back to your blog page, thus increasing your traffic.

    It’s one thing for readers to go out of their way to search for your blog, but it is much more convenient for them to click on a link straight from their inboxes back to your blog. Since we are all more inclined to do things that are easiest, incorporating email marketing will for sure drive more clicks to your blog.
