Best Wordpress Theme For Offline Clients?

Hello Everyone,

Would love to hear opinions on what are some of the good Wordpress themes to use for great looking offline client sites.

I have seen many themes sold on WF, some niche specific, some not and would like to narrow down some of the choices I've seen.

I am looking for the following to be VERY important aspects before buying a theme:

1. The product creator stands behind the product and has not abandoned it to make the next big shiny creation. Months down the the line, they are available and making any necessary updates to the theme, (I have seen so many product creators on the WF promote something and then disappear when things go wrong.)

2. The theme looks great, professional, and laid out very well.

3. The theme is not difficult to setup and customize.

Thanks all.

Liv

  • It`s hard and pretty pointless to keep updating a theme more than a year let's say, the market being in demand for new things all the time. Themeforest though are pretty serious about it.

    • I had looked at Themeforest a few months back and they had quite a lot to choose from. Are they good with support?
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Take a look at ithemes.com, elegantthemes.com, and inkthemes.com.

    • I've been using the new ElegantThemes Divi theme. As you can basically drag and drop design the webpage.

And if I am working in 1 vertical and have a theme that is converting well, I use the free Duplicator Plugin and just clone the site over into a new city.

That way I don't have to redesign and new site every city I'm going in to.

    • Thanks for the suggestions. I tried elegantthemes about year ago and had trouble setting it up. I am not a techie person and it just wasn't easy to follow their setup instructions. I will check out the others.
  • There is no best theme. However, there are really good themes. One I highly recommend, especially for people who are just starting out is the X-Theme on ThemeForest. This theme gives you 3-types of themes in one. You can really customize the theme for full websites. Additionally, you can use this theme to build one page landing pages.

They give video instructions on using the theme, they also give video on things like SEO and other marketing subjects. This theme was built using a lot of input from marketers.

Everything in one theme. If you are on a budget, this is the theme I recommend. If you are not on a budget, I highly recommend this theme as well.

Their customer service is excellent! I had a few issues with their membership area and they got it on straightened out on a Sunday. I didn't have to wait for business hours.

I'm not an affiliate, just a super happy customer.

    • Thanks so much for the feedback about Themeforest. I'm seeing it mentioned quite a bit so I will definitely be checking them out. Support, setup and navigation are all very important to me.
    • I second Digichik, your best theme will be that which fits your website's needs, topic and other details.

I'd recommend Themeforest. They have great support in general, but you SHOULD spare some time reading feedbacks, checking their support forums (some have threads publicy viewable), and see some samples of what others have done with a particular theme.

If you are looking for great support you should do that.

As example I would say that the theme Sterling and Avada are good. But while Sterling includes a lot of videos to set up, my personal experience is that support lacks. While Avada support seems to be better.
In any case you should keep in mind many Wordpress theme marketplaces point that they are not responsible for support or updatings. Nor authors are obligated to update their work.

Other options are Inkthemes and Elegant themes. Good support too.

  • Thanks for the suggestion. I hopped right over to Theme Forest to check it out. It does seem to be a very very nice theme.

  • I freakin love themeforest, it's my personal fav. I really like that X theme as well. There's so much you can do with it. Nice suggestion.

    • Judging from the comments, it seems to be a favorite among many. Is X theme one of the themeforest ?
  • The new Divi theme from EleganThemes really works well, but I also vote for InkThemes. At least it depends on the business needs and your ability to customized a theme the way you like.

    • Divi theme was mentioned by someone else. I will look at it, although I didn't have much success with Elegant themes in the past. I will look at Inkthemes. Thanks for the suggestions.
  • Your best bet would be to use Udesign wordpress theme. One of the best themes available on web and according to their themeforest page, it is said that it's installed on 35,000 sites.

That's due to it's highly easy and flexible customization.

    Check Themeforest for Udesign.

I am using it on my current site now which I started yesterday. I just love the theme.

    • Another one for Themeforest. Easy to customize is very important for me because I am not techie at all. If Themeforest passes this test, looks like I will give it a try.
      Thanks so much.
  • My vote goes with AVADA from themeforest or Divi from elegantthemes.

    • Looks like these were the main two suggestions. Looking at both but I think I'm leaning towards Themeforest. Thanks
  • For whatever it's worth, I like the Maxi theme. Clean and simple

    • Just a reminder that Theme Forest isn't a theme maker. It's a market place. Theme makers create accounts and sell their themes there. There's just as much good and bad in there as the rest of the world.

One thing I'd advise any theme buyer to do is check to make sure that it works in IE8 (test it side by side). No business will be happy if you deliver a theme that doesn't work unless their clients have to download special software to see it (i.e. Firefox).

I've busted more than too many johnny-come-latelys-cum-theme-"makers" in there (and in here) who just test their themes on one of their favourite latest version browsers and scoff at anyone who complains. These are back-yarders without a clue and need to be steared well clear of.

Another thing I'd check is their communication skills by asking them if it's been (fully!) tested in IE8. If they start giving you excuses and saying rubbish like "no one uses IE8 anymore" run (don't walk) away. Also check their loading times. Do they load massive pngs as background images? If so, they have no idea what they're doing and need to be stayed well clear of as well.

A good theme will load fast, work in every modern browser and will have decent rapid support. Expect that and nothing less.

Themes may seem cheap (even at their top dollar) but when you have to spend wasted hours and days fixing themes and waiting for answers from developers they soon become very expensive.

    • I've tried theme forrest, the support is hit an miss... my last experience was a big miss.... wasted a lot of time on a theme that wouldn't work.

Elegant themes support is very good, but I find a lot of their newer themes quite slow... their fancy sliders are very heavy.
  • Hmm Yeah Great Question though i have some of wordpress themes which are seo friendly. You will have to setup some settings. can find out here SEO dot juna | Learn Wordpress SEO, Blogger SEO, Adobe Photoshop CS6, Free Plugins.
