Selling liquidations on Alibaba, Tradekey etc.

Hello,

Has anyone out there in internet land sold liquidated inventories on Alibaba or any of the trade lead websites?

I have experimented with it. But I can't get anyone on Alibaba or Tradekey to respond to my listing. Although I have only sent 20 messages on Tradekey so far.

Just curious if anyone has ever sold via these sites before.

I have always avoided Alibaba in the past.

I have sold a couple of liquidations before. I was a student of J.F. Jim Straw's as well.

I recently came across the John Durhman ebooks, I think I may have bought the "Export Profits" book a few years back but never tried it out. I came across the "Swimming With Whales" pdf on the internet somewhere. I didn't realize it was a book that was being sold. So I googled around and then found the forum here.

Not being familiar with the Warrior Forum I then looked through the threads about that book and saw that the author was banned and sort of disappeared after the book came out.

But...

The part on finding suppliers is certainly 100% accurate and something I had done before a bit and then thought I would try again. I did and that part worked. But finding sellers is always easy.

So I thought I would try the important part out--finding buyers on Alibaba, Tradekey and other trade lead sites.

The hard part in any business is finding buyers--so I was curious to see if it was really possible to find buyers for stocklots on Alibaba.

I am even experimenting now with being a Gold verified supplier. Although, I'm still waiting on them to complete my verification. The verification is sort of a joke, all they did was call me and look at a copy of my business license and phone bills.

One thing I have noticed about Alibaba is now buyer leads on Alibaba are almost all through the "AlibabaPro" platform, which looks like it greatly limits the amount of solicitations you can send to buyers. I assume they have tried to cut down on the amount of unsolicited contacts being made to buyers.

Even a gold member can only send "5 quotes a day". Although I have noticed there is always a "ask for more information about this quote", perhaps I can contact buyers that way? I sent only 2 messages doing that, and whenever I copy or pasted anything in the contact box I got the error "englise only please'" which I thought was pretty funny. The only way I could get it to accept a message is if I manually typed the whole thing out which was super annoying.

The other thing I thought of regarding these trade lead sites is, the ones where the buyers post full contact information, if they are in a English speaking country to simply phone them on Skype.

Anyway, sorry to ramble on. Just wondering if anyone out there had done this and might have some advice.

I think the stocklot is pretty competitive. It was retailing for over $100K recently and we are willing to simply take best offers at the moment. We don't expect to sell it for much.

Thanks in advance for any help.
