Keeping it clean and focused...

Recently there's been an unusual amount of post's that aren't
related to the topic and theme of this section of the forums.

I don't know how many I've reported as of late and
I'd like to not only encourage all of you who are
frequently contributing VALUE here to also
remember that forum users are also moderators.

Help a guy out and start reporting these post's to keep
this section of the forums on topic and focused. THANKS!

    While we're at it, I'd like to make a public service announcement too.

    If you're driving down the road and there's no one on the road in front of you for quite a stretch, but you see in your rear view mirror that there's 4, 5 or more cars right behind you bumper to bumper...

    ... it's because you're driving too $##@!**% SLOW! Speed the $%## up, will ya? Some of us actually want to get to where we need to get to TODAY. We didn't decide to drive because we wanted it to take us LONGER to get where we need to get to, %$##@.

      Sorry, but if I am already doing or even exceeding the speed limit and you decide to ride my ass because you like to drive like a bat out of hell, you can just follow me for a while.

      I'm not risking the life of myself or my family because you are late for your appointment. Next time, leave 10 minutes earlier.

        Woah, wait a sec. Who said anything about the driver speeding? It's assumed they're driving under the legal limit. But slowly. Very, very slowly.

        Otherwise yes I fully agree. If I'm already going at a decent clip then it's not on me. But if you really don't want to risk life or limb or even your car, do what I do. I let the guy go ahead rather than riding my ass because why tempt getting rear ended. I let the guy go and he speeds ahead - and then the cops get him, which keeps them preoccupied so I can drive as I please laughing all the way.

    Here are some threads we get lately that are not allowed:

    --Personal journey/ accountability/ diary/ follow me threads. Anytime you see something like "This thread is the personal accountability journal of my 90-day offline startup adventure. I'll be sharing tons of value. Follow this thread for weekly updates," it will be deleted. Start a blog and link to it in your sig.

    --Free Kindle books. Anytime you see something like, "Fred Redhead's amazing book on Offline Secret Handshakes is available for free on Kindle today only," it will be deleted. Otherwise the forum would be littered with these types of posts.

    --Links to your own sites. Some people link to their site without disclosing it is theirs, couching it as a third-party resource. After a few times, it's kind of obvious. Just go ahead and put it in your sig. Why all the cloak-and-dagger?

    --It's also not useful to bring up a 3-year-old thread just to say "thanks for the info." Use the thanks button. If you are doing it to up your post count as a new member, the forum is not going away--slow down and add some value.

      Joe, all true and I've asked the forums to update the Offline section of the forums with a better and clearer description. Hopefully they take the suggestion. = )

    Rus, as if to prove the point you made this thread was quickly hijacked by more non-offline marketing comments.

    I'm with Rus, lets keep this section on topic. There are plenty of other sections for chit-chat

    Considering how big the forum is, it is hard keeping the signal to noise ratio at a decent level but I think the community moderation aspect will keep things in check if everyone pitches in.
