Found Niche...Looking for the next step

Hey guys,

After reading many of the posts on WF I understand that I need to target a niche when starting a new business. I believe specializing will help differentiate me from my competition as well. I have concluded that the financial niche (namely business brokers, accountants, and other financial advisors) would best serve me after researching niches. The Services: Web design; Social Media; Search Advertising;Email Marketing; Blog Services; Conversion Optimization and Partnerships with other Agencies for work.

Besides joining their respective trade associations, cold calling, giving local seminars, direct mail, could anyone suggest other ways of how a new online ad agency could get new offline clients. Online I understand, yet offline is where I feel lacking.

My target demographic consists of company revenues of 500k to 3 million. My website will launch in a few weeks but I feel that I need to have an offline system in place to hit the ground running. Any advice/analysis would be much appreciated...critical analysis of the business model would be well appreciated as well.

Thanks in advance.

If you'll use the search button and type in "prospecting", there are 188 associated threads.

How much information would you like?

You should run multiple campaigns with same budget to test out waters. Once you the best method figured out, go all in.

Will not read, no paragraphs. Sorry the thread title interested me but when I saw the terrible format of your post I wouldn't/couldn't read it.

      I apologize Rus,

You're right. I changed the structure to be more legible.

Look for any charities your target business may be serving and join them.

What's wrong with the stuff you have listed?
Have you done it all yet?

I would go for the results in advance strategy to start with. For one...you will know how hard it is to actually get results in your chosen industry.

For two, you can actually sell the leads you are getting through the site and it's much easier to sell a business results you are already getting rather than getting results you will get them in the future.

No. I'm currently focusing on cold calling right now. Thanks to another member here I just started making phone calls even though my site has not launched yet. I am learning alot about the niche just from being on the phone .Thank you guys for all your input. Very much appreciated.

I doubt you meant it that way, but the above sentence concerns me. You must serve them in order to be successful.

Why can't you get started now? Why do you have to wait? You don't need any special course or knowledge. In fact, I feel that actually harms people sometimes.

It doesn't matter what you know about. It only matters what you know how to do.

Go start talking to people in your niche. Get to know as many of them as possible and find out what they actually want. Then, go learn how to do that.

You will get much, much farther that way. The saddest day in the world was when I spent a lot of time (months, years) developing a product or skill set only to find out that nobody wants it, or maybe they just don't want it from me.

Your post is so full of assumptions about what people want and what you can sell. Stop assuming.

You must know how to do something valuable that they want from you.

Best of luck - stop thinking, start doing.

Have you attended any networking events, chamber of commerce meetings, meetups, etc.? When I first started my business I attended at least 6 events a week. I know that sounds like a lot and it was but it helped so much. I wouldn't have ever gotten my business off the ground as quickly as I did if it wasn't for that face to face interaction.
