Virtual phone # as main number

Just wondering if anyone uses a virtual phone # as their main business phone. Right now I use my personal cell and not sure if I want to get a another cell phone plan for my business line or get a virtual number like Grasshopper or EVoice (get a toll-free & local number) and forward it to my personal cell.

Most of my clients email me but would like to display a phone number as well.

Thanks

I use several virtual numbers that all forward to my cell.

Doing it this way, I can tell immediately when my phone rings what the call pertains to and can even narrow it down to which means of marketing brought me the call if I wish to.

If I want my ad in a town 1000 miles away to "look local" these numbers make that possible, too.

The numbers are cheap...a buck apiece and 1 cent per minute. You can't beat it.

Yes, by the way, I AM in the Witness Protection Program. I could tell you who I am but then I would have to kill you.

Check into Google Voice as this is a good option for this.

Only problem is it can not handle MMS but you can do SMS

I use Skype. I've got a local area phone number from Skype and then I divert the calls from that number to my mobile phone.

I am using a Callrail number for a local site of mine. Can record calls and do some other phone tricks. It works well.

    Hi Everyone,

I know of www.stickynumber.com which is a good one.

They offer virtual numbers for many countries worldwide and have a good 24/7 support.

I will suggest this for anyone interested in getting a virtual phone number either for business or personal use because i have a number with them and a good experience too.

Hope this helps anyone looking for a virtual number.

    regards,

I bought a Skype number, you get the option of which country you want the number to be located in and it simply redirects phone calls through to my phone or my skype account - easy peasy!

For virtual and/or land line look into Majicjack. Best of both worlds.

I have used a Google Voice number on my site for almost two years now. It works great except for their translation service, i.e., translating what the computer hears to text which is then sent to you as an email. It also provides the original audio in the email so you can listen to is and correct what their translator has messed up.

It is just like any other voicemail system only the voicemails get sent to you via email.

I "believe" that all gmail email accounts are capable of setting up a google voice number tied to your email account.

I used my cellphone number in phobebook ads for years, but wante to switch to a
Local Land Line looking number/area code. I got a virtual local number directly from Verizon. Cheap and has no problem ranking my websites on google maps.

I have my cellphone and the virtual number forwarded to a live call center. Love it

I use a Twilio number that forwards to my cell phone and have a whisper message telling me what the call is for and who it is from.

If you are marketing to local businesses outside your area, I highly recommend using a virtual number in the area code you are marketing to. Its worth $1 per month to look like you are a business just down the street from the prospect.
