Are You A Member of Any Marketing Associations

Fine.. Basically i am a newer and learner in this area. I have little experience on internet marketing subject. So what.. I want know more..
I am not a member of any kind of the internet marketing associations. But i am very interested them.
Can you please suggest me how can i get a membership of any kind of the internet marketing association ?

I was a member of GKIC for a long time. In fact I need to sign up again. However, GKIC is not really an association.

In casae anyone is wondering what GKICC is it is.Glazer Kennedy Inner Circle

I am really surprised by the lack of responses. I was certain there would many of you that were members.

What made you stop being a member of GKIC?

I got a J.O.B.

Got recruited, built up part of the business to a million dollar revenue center, set systems in place, did trainings and then they decided to "change direction". Which meant they were keeping the course and I was taking the off ramp.

Good news for them is sales are down 60% ($600K) in the department that I started for them. I guess changing directions and letting me go really paid off. They got a heck of ROI.

No, look at most of them, they teach less than we already know, ditto the MMA Mobile Marketing Assoc, their webinars are so basic its painful.

There are several of them to choose from. Just wanted to see what you all thought about them. Being a member does have the advantage of saying you are part of one of these associations which brings with it some credibility even if no one has ever heard of them.

The ones I have looked at offer training and certification. Again the certification brings withit some credibility.

Thoughts?

Most associations are money making/profit generating organizations. Yep, even the so called non-profit ones. Why do I need someone else to tell me or give me a piece of paper that says "certified." Who sets the standards???

I know plenty of MBAs who are mentally challenged, and they're supposed to be qualified.

My prospects know I'm qualified when I speak. I know what to say, what not to say, and most importantly, they know, I know how to solve their problems.

As someone above mentioned, most of the regulars in the offline section have more knowledge and experience than many of the people running the marketing associations.

I belong to one association(AMA), not for credibility, but to learn about interesting things others are doing and the occasional new trend. Although, most of the new ideas come from lists I've joined through the WF.

Seriously though, I've NOT been asked once if I'm a member of any "trade" organizations and it's likely all my prospects have zero clue that any even exist for online marketing.

Same here. And I think that's unusual. You would think someone would ask. I mean out of hundreds and hundreds of prospects. Not once.
