Have you guys ever accepted an incentive for referrals.

I wanted to change up some things with the company I help called Passingleads.com it's an online based software that allows users to submit referrals information and if that referral uses their services, the referrer can track the status all the way until they are paid. Types of businesses ( auto dealers, home services providers, transportation services etc)

I wanted to find out if you guys ever do the refer a friend programs that businesses offer and if not why?

We are testing different processes and I would like your opinions on accepting payments for referring customers especially if a business's is willing to pay you up to over $500 per closed referral lead.

    I've done non-monetary rewards for clients and their referral systems...chocolate, wine, gift certs...we make a list for the # of referrals someone sends them, and keep track so a different gift goes out as they go up the ladder.

    This keeps all concerned safe from the money issue.

      Hey Jason with that company is the Referral program explained by word of mouth (privately)or is it marketed for anyone to be able use (publicly).

      I wouldn't mind free booze for referring my collection of leads. But I am intrigued by the fact that you write them down.Are the referrers updated on the status of that lead or do they just get a box of chocolates in the mail with a thank you surprisingly.

        Company A tells their clients they'll be asking for and appreciate referrals.

        Then they do that regularly.

        When referrals come in, Company A notes this down in a spreadsheet.

        A gift is sent out in accordance with the list of ascending value options, usually 6 items. At Christmastime, if a referral source has passed along a bunch (6 or more) that year, I recommend a handwritten card acknowledging it along with another gift.

        These do not have to be expensive. I have seen simple Thank You cards of mine with nice covers sitting on the receiver's desk many months later.

        The appreciation tokens are a surprise to the referral source.

    Whenever a business provides me with an referral, I always let them know about the gifts I'll give them. Sometimes, I'll let them know beforehand before they give the referral of things I would give. Yes, wine is usually a popular choice among biz owners, but sometimes just more FREE marketing for them that I can provide is always helpful.

    Soooo .....If a pool cleaning company said I will give you a $100 for every customer that signs up for a weekly cleaning and all you have to do is submit their name and contact info , would that entice you to swiftly find some prospects by any means?
