Is shorter always better?

Hey there,

The general advice I had gotten in telemarketing was to keep everything as short as possible, but I was just wondering whether it was always desirable?

Can it ever be too short?

I knew only one other place selling at the executive level that kept pretty long scripts (4-5 pages in length). They took the approach of "selling as theater"

(for example, there was a part where an opener would act kinda excited and scared and introduce the closer as a big shot)

and so the length of the script was due to these antics

Thoughts?Do very short scripts/presentation sometime fails to capture the imagination?

When calling to see if I can supply a company paper receipt rolls,
which I know they are already using, I do keep it short and to the point.

Both to the first person who answers the phone as well as to the decision maker.

It's a business owner, me, having no time for theatre,
the people below the decision maker get that, so does the DM.

Sometimes I think the timid don't know what they really have,
can't clearly say it and this is the root of their frustrations.

    Best,
    Ewen
