Driving traffic to my fitness site with postcards?

Hi All,

I would like to drive traffic to my site using postcards. I have two offers to make and am not sure which one to focus on. The first is a distance fitness coaching program for 12 months for $97 at newyoukungfu.com. The second is how to develop a corporate workshop business for $997.00 at http://www.newyoukungfu.com/teach-freelance.html. I'm not sure EDDM postcards would work for this since I need specific lists and can't just mail to a geographic area. I appreciate any ideas anyone can offer.

Thank you.

    I like turtles too.

Anywho... I wouldn't use EDDM either... if you did it would just be a numbers game. But, then again, you could always test it and see how you do!

Like you said, I'd get a specific list of people who are into fitness. Fitness buffs are always looking for the next best thing. P90x... to Insanity... now it's...

Upon first glance, your two ideas seem very different.

Once you settle down and decide which one you're gonna go with, make sure you do your preparation.

When it comes to postcard marketing, you NEED to make sure that you have a powerful funnel in place to drive up the value of your leads.

After that, it's all about testing before you roll out.

I mean, if you're sending to a cold, TARGETED list, at a 1% conversion, you're gonna get 10 sales from a 1,000 postcard test. Let's say each card costs you around $1 to produce and mail, that's $1,000.

10 sales will give you $970, which is a $30 loss.

However, if you set up a decent funnel, you might get:
    - 20 leads.
    - 10 $97 sales ($970)
    - 2 $200 sales ($400)

Which gives you $1370 - $370 profit. And then you still have those leads to continue marketing to.

And those two larger sales might be a week, or a month down the line. But the point is the fact that if you create a good funnel. It can turn a losing campaign into a winner.

Whenever you're creating a new campaign, you can NEVER know whether you're gonna win. That's why we test. But all we can do is tip the odds in our favour using careful preparation.

This includes getting a well targeted list, a well-written mailpiece, and a strong funnel.

    Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. As agreed, I'll go with a targeted list, but I'm a little unclear on whether or not my funnel is what you think it ought to be. Does newyoukungfu.com look like it's doing alright in the funneling department?
