I just began seling mobile sites to offline businesses. I email business owners free mockup and a screenshot how badly their site look on mobile devices.

For the past two days 2 clients reply to my mail and aks me to call them.

They No say a word. just "call me" and then they write down number.

I can't speak good english and am not from the U.S. either, i am sure if i called them they'll hang up within 30 seconds because of poor english and my accent i guess.

I really need to close these clients as they're my first offline clients to respond to my services.

please what's the way out?

If anyone can help close the deal we can split the profit. Thanks

You can't think that your bad english and accent will scare people away. It isn't true. There are MILLIONS of people who don't speak good english and have an accent in america that are making money. Plus, from reading your post, i couldnt even tell that you didn't speak good english.

To be a business man/women, you have to have confidence and strive for whatever goals you have, no matter what other people say or what you think other people will think of you. You gotta be willing to call these people and let them know that you have a quality product that they need with confidence. Confidence is the key. Dont care about what other people will think, it doesnt matter.

Hope this helps PM me if you have any questions

Confidence is key. I think you should also address the issue head on. I might say something like this:

"Hello (prospect name), we talked via email... my name is ___ and as you can tell English is not my first language. Although I have a great product, some people in the US prefer not to do business with people who have such thick accents. Before we go any further, are you one of those people, or are you more concerned with the quality of product I can deliver?"

I'll bet more than half of the people, out of good ole' fashioned American guilt, will let you continue on with the conversation.

I have to ask... Did you not think this would happen when you first emailed them? Did you think they were just going to reply to your email and hire you on the spot? It's called "offline" for a reason

Like the members above suggest, you could of course try to pump yourself up and Just Do It (TM). Though my suggestion would be you start looking for a permanent business partner who's got the selling skills but not your web development skills. You'd be much better off IMO, each one focusing on their strengths.

Well, zaccks, you have a problem. The problem of Not Enough Prospects In The Funnel.

If you had more, you wouldn't be desperate to close the very few you have.

You will run into two kinds of people:

    1) Those who have a problem with your English and that you live outside the US

    and

    2) Those who do not have a problem with your English and that you live outside the US.

Filter to screen out Type 1 and screen in Type 2.

That's why you need more prospects in your funnel.

When you identify a Type 2 prospect, you know there won't be any discriminatory issues.

How do you tilt the odds in your favor? Look for prospects who have already demonstrated a willingness to work with offsite contractors...before you approach them. Make it one of the first questions you ask. "Have you worked with a remote contractor before? Do you have any concerns about it?"

I've trained many people to call from outside the US into the country to get work. Get past these anxieties you have and screen for Fit. You will not change anyone's mind, but you can find people whose minds are already made up that they can and will work with someone like you.

Yes, some people will complain about you not living here, but that is nothing to be afraid of because there are others who won't give a care at all.

Mobile sites are where I began when I got into offline marketing. When I made some completely random email template that was completely a normal approach, it went well and lead me to having an offline client.

Just filter out those people who don't care and find people who will still want to work with you regardless of your location and English.

Honest and good businessmen don't find the fault in the marketer but in how they market. If you can deliver, that is all that matters,
