OFFLINE MARKETING

I found out the "giant" player in the direct mail coupon biz, isn't so giant after all.

They do have a list of TONS of territories they cover... BUT almost all of them are
"dormant." ALL of the Canada territories are "dormant!"

And... out of all the many US territories, only ***TEN*** are active!

So, world-wide, Val-Pak only has 10 cities/areas they cover.

That shocked me.

I live within 20 minutes of two cities they cover, and these are both cities with less than 40k population. I don't think this is accurate.

  Maybe you live in an active "area" which is one franchise but might cover more than 1 town.
  Let me know what those cities are, and I'll check it against the list I have.

I know of 3 different cities, not near each other, and under 40k population that they actively mail to. Their website says they're in 100 markets, actively mailing to 40million households each month.

Also... Guess I could have edited this, but oh well.

The page you're looking at dormant vs. operating is the available markets to franchise. Dormant means a franchise can open in that location. Operating means that they are operating but wanting to sell, retire, or whatever. The list isn't a list of active franchisees.

They still are everywhere - lots of franchises. I doubt they publish a neat, easy list of every regional franchise. Wouldn't that be like providing an easy mailing list for competing ad sellers?

I know you can compile a list by doing online Yellowpages searches by state. It may take a few hours, but you would have a current list.
