Do you Market Offline?

I just got my first order of 500 business cards for one of my sites that I am going to add offline techniques to my online marketing.

Everything I have learned from successful business people points to relationships being the key to business success. Graphics, pictures, fancy websites don't do anything without relationships.

So, my question, have any of you merged your online business with offline marketing and networking successfully?

Thanks!

Jeremiah

  • I have never tried it myself, but Vick Strizheus (King Of Online Traffic) reckons he kills it offline because there is no competition.

    Might be worth investigating?
  • The key to offline marketing an online concept is really no different than advertising that online property online. It comes down to TARGETTING the right people to give your message to.

  • there is no such a thing as offline and online marketing

    there is just marketing

we do the marketing, and target what we like

    • True, there is just marketing, because online and offline marketing is best known as marketing strategies.
    • My mantra as well. People are people. Sales-psychology remains the same because people remain the same. One little trick I wrote about was using a descriptive domain on your business card to save space. You can set it to redirect to your website and even track your business card success that way. Also placing

      Call

On your business card instead of phone increases calls since you're giving instructions not just information.

  • Dan Kennedy's Marketing Triangle:

You have to get the RIGHT MESSAGE to the RIGHT MARKET using the RIGHT MEDIA.

Offline... Online... Direct mail, yellow pages, flyers, Facebook, Twitter, websites, etc. are all just a form of media.

And, to answer your question, I just got 1,000 business cards printed promoting my affiliate. I'll place them at businesses, book stores, coffee shops, etc. to direct prospects online.

  • I would say that until you are able to be successful online you will probably have trouble getting people to join offline. I think that if you can show people that it is working for you is when they usually want to join as well.
  • We do market offline, but like the Niche Man said, offline advertising is more expensive and thus demands more attention than online adv. We know our crowd - in our case, it's the local tech-geek-budding-entrepreneurs that we target. We don't do a whole lot of offline marketing, but what we have done has brought us satisfying results so far.
  • i heard so many thing about offline market. But i didn't tried these for me. i am doing the seo workers and after heard the offline market, now i am interested to do it.
  • Offline marketing isn't for everyone. Not saying that it isn't possible for someone to obtain and learn the proper ways.

I just believe it's not for everyone. I personally love offline marketing, I have more experience and success with offline marketing, than i do with online marketing warriorforum. Now with that starting to change, I find that you can make a lot more money offline marketing then online marketing. Once again, that is just my opinion and my personal experience.

I don't agree, with others saying offline marketing is more expensive. It's all about how you find your leads. I have my own method, let me say this. I've yet to spend a penny on finding my potential clientele. I spend a few hours each week doing my personal method collecting information, Then I dedicate a day or two calling/emailing works great for me! I guess i have a knack with being on the phone.
  • There is no online or offline marketing ...its just marketing ,where we target the mass with our marketing skills to make our product a success.
  • Yes I'm doing it right now. I am working on Marketing Campaign and I will be distributing mugs or t-shirts.
  • Business cards are often treated like only a way of conveying contact information

    ALL ADVERTISING

    Including business cards should

    Demonstrate a problem
    Show a solution
Show they should come to you

    Need Widgets?
    Visit TheBestWidgetsNearYou.com
Call Custom Widget Expert John Smith 000.000.000

One possible mistake here. Two calls to action, but the option of visit or call is nice
Give directions such as visit or call not just information. It increases response rate

Now analyse this example with the template for advertising above and you'll note everything has been covered.

Just off the top of my head.

    • I hate to be the one to burst your bubble, but your comments are short of laughable. If there is something that people will pay for even in a so called bad financial environment... its education.

I will more than likely bet that a few tweeks in to WHO you are selling to, and HOW you are selling to them, would make a world of difference.
  • I think doing classified ads on newspapers are a great way to do offline marketing.

    • And whens the last time you looked in the classifieds section of a newspaper. Here in Honolulu Hawaii and I imagine all over the world reaadership is down while advertising prices increase. The newspapers at least here don't seem to get it. If they don't start offering online perks they will end up closing their doors.

To summarize, newspaper classifieds are dead.

  • Hey there Jeremiah! You are indeed correct that GOOD business-consumer relationship is very important to the success of your business. But sometimes it usually depends on the TYPE(what industry is your focus) of business you are running and your TARGET audience(based on age, gender, interest, location, etc). If you are targeting locally, then offline marketing would be a great campaign to gain leads backed up with online campaigns. Telemarketing, direct mail, flyers, business cards and other print ads are a few ways to launch your offline marketing. Adding your website & social media accounts, phone number, location, etc to your print ads is also another way to somehow boost your presence both online & offline. I would agree with everyone who said that call-to-actions are very important to increase customer response rate. In in all, creativity in collaborating these campaigns would be badly needed. And to your question if I happen to "merged your online business with offline marketing and networking successfully", well I say YES.
  • Ultimately the key to any lasting business these days is a good relationship. People are all about the reviews and what their friend thinks. So if you can meet people in person, get to know them, HELP THEM, and then get them to be interested in what you do, most likely they will write you a good review and tell a few friends about you. You build a free referral businesses based solely on the fact that you have built positive relationships by being HELPFUL to the people you meet. As it is said about building a list, the same goes in real life. Provide value to the people you meet, introduce them to other people that can help them, share useful ideas, learn about them outside of the business life. Good luck!
  • any business must have a Mix of Offline and online marketing,
as you all guys know online marketing is very expesnive,
and Target customers are in one Big blur...
on offline marketing, customers are more focused.

    so try both.
have proper business card, and marketing materials office with your website name it
thats can go a long way
