How can I promote an art poster website offline?

Hi all,

I have just started a zazzle store (art posters and mugs) and I would like to know how I could promote it offline (I am planning to equally have my own website selling my zazzle store products).

I have a mobile contract that allow me to send 5000 text messages in a month and I would like to use this equally.

Many thanks in advance for your help,

My experience is primarily offline and I would print business cards and hand them out to folks if they were interested. Important: don't just hand out cards, hand out cards to folks that are actually interested. A lot of it is networking.

Since your stuff is art related, you might do well to hang out at art museums and exhibits and chat up folks that enjoy the art, then ask them to visit your store sometime.

Direct mailing is another option, but that can be costly. My business actually helps people do this type of mailing, but on a very personal level. Again, if you're just starting out, you'll have to be mindful of what your ROI on your marketing is.

Another way that will be more long-term is getting articles written about your store in your local paper and doing interviews with local radio stations. If you're interested in any of these ideas, I can elaborate.

    Best of luck!

Could we see the zazzle store please to better understand the "Type" of art that you have this could better assist us in assisting you to understand the type of demographic target that you would be after.

I prefer not for anonymity purpose. However your advices remain very welcome.

I would agree with basvb86. And about your SMS marketing plan, I'm not quite convince that it would return leads that much. As for my own experience, I personally hate to receive random texts that says "we offer blah blah" unless I'm subscribed to it, then it wouldn't be a problem. You have to get to know a lot people personally who're REALLY interested with your products/ services being offered. You can target business owners since they can use your products as their promotional items.
