I've never done PPC before and would like to give it a go with bing + clickbank just to get a feel for how it works.

Now this is probably a really noob question but I am wondering how it actually works in terms of selecting keywords and the exposure rate of your ad?

What I mean is, I take it better keywords cost you a lot more cash to use. But how does keyword competition relate to the actual position, and how many times your ad will be visible in that spot when a user enters that query?

Like I said I have no idea how this works. Theres only so many little PPC ads that are displayed in the SERPs at one time. So do they allocate time or % slots or something?

Ie: you get second box from top for your ad 20% of the time a user searches for your keyword?

Is that how this PPC thing works?
