What is a good adwords course?

I dabbled into adwords about 5 years ago and changed it to organic traffic. This works for my amazon product review site, but the income is very unstable due to all kind of passing animals.

So I'm looking for more stable traffic. I know there are more PPC companies but as adwords is the biggest and google traffic converts best for me until now I want to start there. I searched through the forum and found good tips here and there but I like to have one updated course.

Can anyone recommend a good up to date adwords course / source?

    Hi femkeshe

No one has poured more resources into AdWords training than AdWords themselves. The most up-to-date, accurate and authoritative course on AdWords can be found here:

    https://support.google.com/adwords/

It will take you weeks of study to get through all of the materials found there and most other course will not come close to the comprehensiveness of that study material.

      Thanks dburk.

I found one myself too: ppc-coach.com

But I will start of with your tip. Though I really hate the google support section (really unclear) it will be better to have the basics down again.

        Hi femkeshe,

Over the past 2 years Google has poured a tremendous amount of resources into AdWords training and support materials, including searchable help topics, a glossary, hundreds of videos, and online courses. They include really basic and entertaining animated videos that illustrate all of the important concepts. You should dig a little deeper, you will be pleasantly impressed.

Agreed. And if you dig a little further in, you even can find videos - https://support.google.com/adwords/a..._topic=3381144 - This is especially useful because you can listen to them as you do other tasks.

Most honest answer in years without a link to some affiliate program. Thank You!

There are plenty of adwords courses which provide good information, but as dburk said - nothing comes close to what Google has to teach you

I've found that the AdWords is good to learn the technical aspects of setting up and running a campaign. But their goal is to get you more clicks and them more money. While the technical side is important, equally as important is understanding the marketing you will be using on top of the technology.

ppc-coach is a member here. I have bought some of his products in the past. They are quality. I cannot give an opinion on any specific course you may have found though...but he 100% knows his stuff.

Read all day today through the adwords support and... Ai ai, it's really REALLY BORING!

Most of what I've seen kicks in open doors (after years of doing organic SEO). Or not so relevant for my goal, Amazon review sites. But yes, there is also great info when I dig deeper. And I can adapt that. It does feel like reinventing the wheel though. It's a bit as Drew says:

I still could use a course which gives an approach for amazon affiliates.

        Hi femkeshe,

I get what you are saying. Learning a bunch of advanced knowledge can get boring, especially if you are the type of person that needs to hear a bunch of hype to stay motivated.

Google hasn't added any hype into their material. They don't put images of bling covered 19 year old billionaires surrounded by bikini clad babes caressing him as he struts in front of his private jet. limousine, exotic sports car, helicopter and yacht, while claiming you too could be this rich billionaire teenager if you just follow their 2 minute a week formula for making millions of dollars per week.

However, take it from me and the handful of other very experienced advertisers on this forum, they are teaching you the exact things you need to know without the fluff. Every single point they make in their material is not only accurate, but absolutely essential. They have done a masterful job of reducing the narrative to the most important, absolutely essential principles and concepts that are key for success in AdWords marketing.

It takes a professional that has been working for years in this discipline to realize just how thorough, accurate and concise their material is, it's as if they hired a team of experts and linguists to pour over every word, and every point to make sure that it is essential knowledge and expressed with absolute precision and clarity.

When an old timer like myself sees such a magnificent treasure go so overlooked and under valued it makes me sad. But then I think, one less competitor to worry about, and I'm happy again.

Now I do understand that you need help in how to implement AdWords advertising for your specific application as an Amazon Affiliate marketer. The Google material doesn't get into that specialized application. However, everything they teach you is essential, even for your specialized needs, ignore it at risk of your own peril. You need both the essentials as well as the knowledge for your specialized application. One must build on the other, else you will fail, and probably never understand why.

I suggest you learn the basics first, because the advanced, or specialized, techniques require a mastery of the basics. If you skip the basics, and go straight to the advanced, you are setting yourself up for failure.

    Hi Don Burk,

You sound irritated but don't take me wrong. I'm not interested in hype or fluff. I'm too long in the IM world to waste time on that as I need to run my sites next to learning a new form of traffic to make my income more stable. (I'm became a full-timer about 3 years ago)

My opinion on adwords support: Great as a reference book but not good as a study book.

The reason: It is just too much - The resources include really much to serve everyone's need, from beginner to professional. So much that it is too much too be handy as a study book.

I'm reading there for over two full days now! And for me it is just too much to absorb all in there as a kind of study book. (And I'm trained to absorb much as fast as possible by my last profession. Albeit, this is 3 years ago so perhaps I'm losing that talent ) Probably when you get more adwords experience you can pick out those valuable points and see how good it is.

I think whenever you point someone to the adwords support this is where they stumble. As a reference it is great, as a study book it is just way too much. It is not the lack of hype or bling.

But overall, I don't want to insult you and I appreciate your help in sending me the to a place to learn adwords and putting time in answering questions here on the forum. I was to lazy / busy to do that myself so you are already way more social then me. Let's not get irritated with each other. We both just want the best for our goal.

      Hi femkeshe,

Thanks for your reply. I am sorry I came across as being irritated, really I m not irritated I'm just a generally cantankerous old guy that as been doing this for a long time.

I know what you mean by it being too much... it is too much to take in in just few weeks time, but trust me when I tell you it is just the tip of the iceberg. AdWords advertising is much more complex than most people imagine when they are first getting involved.

The good news is that within that help site AdWords built a section for new advertisers that you might appreciate:
      https://support.google.com/adwords/topic/3374694

And there is even a study course for new advertisers that can be found here:
      https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/6069823

You really do need to get a good understanding of the fundamentals before you start spending money on advertising, else that money could very well be wasted. You will want to revisit the course material numerous times over the next few months so that you can refresh you knowledge and understanding as you learn how to implement your campaigns. It is a fairly steep learning curve before you can run a campaign successfully.
