Hi Fellow Warriors,

Just wanted to get input with running FB ads as opposed to Adwords and vice versa. Do you have a preference? Which do you find better for conversions?
#adwords #facebook

I'm new too, but from what I've heard; Facebook is easier for beginners and a great PPC site in general.
AdWords is high competition, expensive, and difficult to setup a proper campaign for a beginner.

      Hi

They are 2 different things. Ok, you can use both to get traffic to your site but there is some differences.

Facebook -> You show ads to people that do not searched for.

Adwords -> You ad is shown to people who searched for.

It can look similar, but its not.

I don't think anyone can provide you an honest and straight forward answer.
Both Traffic source are huge player in the market and both are showing amazing results and incredible bad results depending on the campaign and more important ... the person who run the campaign !

Learn as much as you can on both traffic source, launch correct setup on both with low daily budget, optimize, test several campaigns, and you'll see by yourself what's work best for what campaign LP etc...

          Cheers,

Some of my competitors have had good success with Facebook ads targeting local clients but my experience has been less than impressive but Adwords continues to drive solid traffic that converts in two businesses that I have. One offline and one predominantly online.

Pretty sure the adwords helped with building traffic so the organic ranking and sharing increased.

Hard to get people to leave FB but people searching Google tend to want to leave to buy what they want.

        Hi PriyaN,

Facebook has a lot of users who spend a lot of time on FB, you can target by demographics as well as past interests. It is a comparable in many ways to AdWords Display Network. AdWords Display Network also allows targeting by demographics and interests, as well as contextual targeting, placement targeting, and Remarketing.

Facebook advertising allows you to target the worlds single largest social network, but nothing else. AdWords Display Network allows you to target the worlds largest network of websites, and is the single largest network of web users, reaching over 70% of all internet users worldwide.

AdWords also offers the largest search network in the world, including the single largest search engine, Google, among others. The opportunities for advanced targeting strategies using a combination of the Search and Display networks are numerous.

The good news is that you do not need to select one or the other, you can use both at the same time if you wish, and that is generally a good idea.

Generally speaking, conversion rates will be highest on AdWords' search network, due to the fact that you are able to target the exact audience, that is interested in your product or service, at the exact moment they are interested. This is the best method of targeting for direct response campaigns.

You can do direct response campaigns on Facebook as well as the AdWords Display network, and it tends to work best if you build up an audience first and then run direct response campaigns to your warmed up audience.

Facebook and AdWords Display Network are both great for branding and awareness campaigns, allowing you to target the upper marketing funnel, which helps to improve conversions on your direct response campaigns. Conversions are highest with direct response campaigns on AdWords Search network, but even higher when combined with branding and awareness campaigns.

Hello friend, i really want to agree with you, but did you know that there is a Facebook you can target those who have interest on your product on Facebook?

You are right, most people think those two platform works the same way, but they are just like black and white water, they cant be placed inside same container.

          Hi globalwalyy,

That assertion is not entirely accurate. Facebook allows you to target specific interest categories, not necessarily "your" specific product. And to be more precise, you can target people that expressed an interest in the category in past, but not necessarily in the current moment.

Another difference is that AdWords search targeting offers extreme relevancy, specifically in the timeliness of your ad, you are able to target not only the exact audience, but at the exact moment they are interested. That timing factor takes relevancy to a level far beyond what you can target in facebook, which gives Search network targeting a huge advantage in direct response type campaigns.

It really depends a lot on your target audience.

Some businesses will provide better ROI with Facebook while other with AdWords. There is no correct answer..
If you would have to compare Google Display (Image Ads) vs Facebook NewsFeed, I would say that FB NewsFeed does seem to provide better value but overall, I still believe that it depends a lot on your business.

Well, for many small business, getting a chatter among all of the chatters is very challenging.
looking for the best services is also very difficult.
According to my personal opinion, when i had searched about it, then i found Facebook is the best one to go with.
reason behind this Facebook is a great platform for marketing your business, the first and foremost thing is it's popularity. It has set up their ranking at the top from 2 of the most popular service that is Twitter and Google.

Business have the ability to set up their presence easily in the world wide web, without any cost.

The strength of the Facebook ads is the control that it gives you over who sees your message.

Most of the time choosing between Adwords or Facebook is not an either/or decision but something that you need to test to find out what works for your business. Remember, continuous testing is the secret of any successful marketing campaign!

Google Ads on the search results page are contextual while Facebook Ads are targeted according to demographics.

Google Ads on the search page are CPC and text based while Facebook ads can be either CPC or CPM and you can include an image with the ad body.

Facebook offers targeted display ads but you are reaching an audience you have to motivate to stop what they are doing and click. Google Ads (on the search side) are shown to searchers who are farther along the purchase process. They have intent to act upon their search.

Facebook ads are great for driving awareness to a targeted group, sort of like a mini-billboard.

I have learned FB Ads are not as optimized for ROI. I have used both, and found Adwords to be more beneficial for better ROI because you can setup much better keyword results. Also, I like it because people search for your keywords instead of just randomly being displayed (happens more with Facebook).

I think facebook is better. Even if subscribers do not search for a specific keyword, the link or image directing visitors to your product will be randomly shown to them. Facebook also determines the interest of their subscribers and properly align it to the people who might be interested in your product.

Belong to your business and what you are advertising for? If you ads a facebook page then let 's use facebook ads. If you ads for a landing page web then I suggest you use adwords. Other than that, it belong to your product too. I suggest you try both and see which one is effective.

I find Facebook has a LOT more traffic than Adwords - but Adwords is easier if you want to start small, test the waters and finetune your landing page. Once your numbers are looking good, I would have no hesitation to roll it out across the board on Facebook.

You need to undestand the difference between the two. You also need to have a plan.

Adwords and others like it such as Bing, are search campaigns. This is a great approach because you are targeting those looking for you at the exact moment they are looking for you. Prospects are qualifying themselves by the search terms, keywords they use. This almost always results in better conversions.

Ad networks like Facebook are more like TV ads. There's a term in the industry called interrupt advertising. Those seeing your ads may not have any interest in your products at that time. Even if you sell say baseball apparel and you target those on FB with an interest in baseball, the chances are they are not interested at that moment.

Note that Adwords also has such an ad network they call the display network. Same thing there. The question is whether it makes sense for you based on your product(s) to use it. A good way is to create an awareness campaign. You may have the sort of product that people don't think about and don't search for. This is typical for new products. But there is a right way and wrong way to use these networks.

So what approach is best for you? One or both? It's not a question of which I think is "best" or lower costs or personal preference. Since we don't know what you are selling, I nor anyone else can tell you which is more effective. But every campaign should use search. A display campaign will depend. Also think about Google's Product Listing Ads which show image ads in search if that makes sense for what you sell and I recommend a remarketing campaign.

Facebook is a bit easier to be managed. Yet, if you give Google some nice data, they can really help you target the exact audience for max profit.

To answer the question: Different businesses always have different results in the 2 platforms.

I suggest to try them both and see what works for you. FB has a lower CPC thus will bring you more traffic. Google on the other hand is more expensive but in many cases will bring higher quality traffic.

It depends a lot on your business and your expertise with both, but in general they are both great traffic sources, and you could try both of them and test until you find out what works best for you. If you provide more info on your product/business, I would be able to give you a more exact answer.

As already said here it really depends on your niche. I use both networks for a few years now. Facebook was pretty cheap, got a little more expensive these days.

In Adwords you target specific users, wich are already looking for a specific topic. So your conversion can be higher here if you using the right keywords! That is the key on adwords. If you use for example broad match keywords you would burn your money in a heartbeat and maybe get nothing out of it.

Personally I like google more. Facebook just robbed me some money a month ago. It was definitely a bug but the support team have no clue themselves.

    good luck

If I were you and on limited budget, I would opt for Facebook ads because you can generate more clicks to your offer compared to adwords. A better way would be to direct your visitors to a FB fanpage (will be more cost-effective for you!) and engage with them regularly. You also need to retarget your visitors who did not opt-in and try and get them on board with a different approach.
Additionally, you should try Bing PPC to get some good result and a better ROI compared to Adwords.

The problem with Adwords is you really need to know what you're doing otherwise you will burn lots of money. Some things don't work very well with Facebook ads and the problem with FB is that people are there to socialise and become desensitised to seeing ads so the CTR is much less. Bing is still pretty good but again you need to know what you're doing so you don't lose money.

Search marketing on AdWords trumps Facebook ALL DAY! I've spent a TON of money on FB over this past year with marginal results. You just cant beat attracting someone that is actually searching for your product/service.

Plus, when people are looking at FB they are more interested in seeing what their friends are doing than shopping.

Adwords is profitable for us, with the Keyword targeting on it is fantastic, and after many years of refining it, we now get a direct profit from visitors, not to mention their referrals and repeat business.

Facebook advertising seems to have had a negative effect on our Page engagement. It seems the more we advertised the less engagement we get.

If your going to advertise on FB, best to get them direct to your website rather than trying to get page likes.
