Why paid traffic is showing as organic in analytics

Hi.. I am running Google ppc ads on my website but in Google Analytics the visits are not showing as paid search traffic, instead its showing as organic traffic.

How to fix this?

The problem with Adwords traffic being counted as organic traffic can be related to the gclid parameter, which is added to the destination URL of AdWords ads.

Chances are the problem you're experiencing is caused by one of two things:

1. Auto-tagging is not enabled in your Adwords account, or

2. The configuration of your site removes the gclid parameter from the URLs. For example, some WordPress sites.

Test to see if your site allows the use of the gclid parameter, by adding it to a landing page URL and opening it in your browser, like so: http://ConvertMoreTraffic.Com/?gclid=Testing123

If ?gclid=Testing123 shows in the URL after the landing page loads, the site is not causing the problem. In that case, check to see if auto-tagging is enabled in your Adwords account.

Thanks a lot... Auto Tagging was disabled, I have now enabled Auto-Tagging in Adwords and hope to see the data in Analytics.

  Actually, when Google Analytics is set up properly, the Source / Medium of Adwords traffic is listed as "google / cpc". If not listed as such, there's a problem somewhere. Likely caused by one of the issues mentioned above.
