How much would you pay per click?

Hey. I was just wondering how much everybody would pay per a click to their website? I'm using Bing ads right now & have a couple good 1's that are like 0.5 a click! I also have some others that are .50-.60 a click though. Is it better to only use highly targeted keywords that may convert for a higher price or just a broad keyword that will bring more traffic? Thanks

Depends entirely on the conversion rate and the profit made per conversion...

What are you doing with the traffic?

Are you just dropping it on your site as more visitors or are you sending it to a squeeze to capture leads?

When paying for traffic it is better (IMO) to send to a squeeze and capture leads. If they do not opt-in (offer a "No Thanks" option if you want), or after they opt-in, pass the traffic on to your site.

The idea of a list isn't just that you can sell them things directly, it's that you can use your members as a source of traffic to send to your blog posts, facebook page, ask them to "like" something in addition to sending buy offers.

You can target buyer keywords or words and phrases used most late in buying decision cycle but building a list would leverage the traffic better.

  • How much would I be willing to pay for a click? As much as needed that make revenues at a positive ROI.

It's simple math. If I convert even at a lowly 3%, I would gladly pay $0.50, even $1 per click all day to make a $50 sale or whatever is the lifetime value of that visitor. Of course, I wouldn't pay that if conversions were just one percent. It's not about the quantity of traffic at any price, it's the quality of the traffic. There is also the quality of your landing page to convert, whatever your desired conversion action is.

Don't look at the CPC. Look at the returns it bring back.

If the CPC is 10/click, but it brings back 12/click, so why not?

However, it is always wise to target keywords with buying intent than general keywords to maximize the chance of a return on the keyword you bid.

Also make sure you check the timing of your ads.

Many ads perform better after hours in the United States.
Just because people are coming home from work and actually
spending their time in front of their computers away from work.

The majority of people on the web in the morning hours are usually
at work, or checking the news and not inclined to whip out their credit cards
during the morning or at work.

Just something to thing about if you're targeting western countries...
Also it can save you from some unwanted clicks from window shoppers...

If your advertising in the U.S - I have found that Bing's audience is a much older crowd. Depends on what state, but on average that statement is true. Keep that in mind if the conversion rate is very low!

Also, if your doing Adwords - you might to post your question to the thread I just opened: http://www.warriorforum.com/pay-per-...-question.html

      Goodluck with your sales!

    Hi,

Bing is a completely different space, if we compare it with Google's. Of course, one can expect higher ROI, considering the read of Adwords. Conversion ratio holds the key.

You should Calculating a Profitable AdWords Budget, first thing to do is research keywords that relate to your business offering and determine on average how much it will cost to bring a visitor to your website. Once you have a solid list of relevant keywords, use the Google Traffic Estimator to get an idea of how much a click will cost on average.

Depends on the client I'm working for.

Some clients get clicks in the range of $1-5 per click
Some other clients get clicks in the range of $25 - 75 per click
