I am back into adwords and I wan to do placements on some people's sites.

On their sites, these ads are showing:

Are these indeed adwords ads?

So if I make ads in adwords and they are text based, will they populate these spaces if the bidding is high enough?

Or are these not traditional adwords ads?

If I create image ads will G also test my ads in these spaces or what?

Lastely -- my content will be FAR more relevant to the content than the ads that are showing is. This will increase my CTRs. IS it best to bid high when I am first getting impressions? I need to own this space so the big irrelevant stuff wont flood in.

  • To me, they appear to be. The clue is the light blue controls at top right. Cursing over them should show Ad Choices which is Adwords, unless someone else is using the same.

From your account, you can check if a site displays Adwords ads or not along with much information such as types of ads and traffic data. Go to Display Planner and at bottom click Show estimates for my targeting criteria and enter the domain. It will show if that site currently accepts text ads and the sizes of image ads.

You ads will display depending on your quality, as measured on content sites (different than search) and your bid.
