How do you turn a $1 into $2 with Paid Advertising

Just curious, I have seen claims where people would put up a 50-100 dollar initial investment into paid advertising and end up making a profit and scaling from there. I find it kind of hard to believe since from what I understand you'll need atleast a minimum of $500 to invest into PPC to test your landing pages and tweaking. If this is true, how is this done? Any thoughts?

It's really not hard at all.

Use PPV and build a list. You can make a lot more that $1 in $2 out.

Pick a niche that's a great one with buyers who buy over and over and that you are interested in. Then get busy.

Yeah kind of makes sense but these days you can expect to be spending atleast $.90 a click with PPC advertising if you're using top tier traffic sources such as facebook and/or Bing/Yahoo. So if your initial investment is $50-$100 then you can expect maybe to build a list of 40-65 people if you have a landing page converting at 50%.

I don't know anything about your funnel or anything but how does the PPV traffic convert as in terms of actually buying products.

The best thing you can do is put yourself out there.

The seller I go through has decent quality of traffic. So, my opt ins generally convert at 3% + over the 1st week.

it comes down to tracking and testing.
Test several different niches / landing pages. Focus on your winners and weed out the losers.
Then optimize your campaign (weed out bad performing keywords, test more ads / copy etc)

    repeat.

once you do that, that's where the magic happens and you'll be able to turn $1 into $2 and $10 like nothing

I wouldn't recommend promoting directly, whatever you may promoting with PPC advertising, and expect sales or ROI.

This method will burn up your money fast...At least, it burned mine in the beginning.

That's why most marketers send their PPC visitors to a blog post where pre-selling can be made or to a squeeze page where they can follow up with their prospects.

I believe that only CPA offers can covert directly ONLY IF, the PPC traffic is Super Targeted.

Honestly, the amount you pay per click has nothing to do with it, its really about the return in investment, say you were selling helicopters on the internet, how much would you be willing to pay per click if you were getting payed 1,000,000 per sales? . Think about that for a minute. You only need to know how well your offer converts.

Aaron is right. The amount per click has nothing to do with it. It's about the ROI and it starts with properly targeting your audience.

Here's an example. Suppose you sell bras, great bras that do all the good things that a bra should do.

Now suppose you go out on the sidewalk in front of your store and stop everyone you can, including men. Men are not usually bra buyers. This is the equivalent of not targeting your audience properly. Sure, some men will buy a bra for their wife/gf (although maybe not the regular kind) so you may make some sales there. But the percentage that buy will be lower than if you stopped only women who are your primary target. You thus waste time and money stopping men.

So stop only women. Go even further and stop only women who obviously need a better bra. You may stop only one in three women but doing so, you eliminate the two in three who are much less likely to need and buy your product. By focusing your target audience, you spend less time and money and thus improve your ROI.

The CPC is irrelevant. It costs you about the same to stop men, all women or just women you see in need of your product. The difference is the percentage that buys. If you don't stop men, your ROI should pretty much double right there. It would further increase by stopping only women who obviously need your product.

That's the first part. The second is closing the sale. You may do the first part very well but if your sales message is poor, you may not have a positive ROI. It doesn't matter if you sell bras, helicopters or widgets.

  • Target correctly.

$1 in, can create much more, can actually create $10 + $1/month if done right

    1) Always send to a landing page (Eliminates lot of risk, because you have a lead)
    2) Very specific targeting

    Main things to test:

    1) Keywords you target
    2) Landing page

Don't get caught up in the advert and other options..
