Newbie Case Study - Dont Give Up
- PPC/SEM |
Heres a bit of background, I am not a FT IM'er, I have a 9-5 job and I dabble in CPA from time to time, however after reading (by accident) Solar Warriors thread on WF (HERE) I decided to reopen my Bing account and try it out.
My plan was to find a high paying offer that wasnt a high cost to consumer so there was one, that is ending today, called Curvy Bust. Something about natural breast cream or something like that.
I have attached the stats.
Cost of ads £64
Sales $240, roughly £180
Nice ROI of just under 200%
How did I do it?
Completely the wrong way.
Did I do the proper keyword research? Kinda, but not as much as the pro's do. At the end of the day I had an offer that had a market. All they had to do was pay the $5.99 shipping. Done some research using Bing tools and got my keywords.
Did I have a LP? No, going forward I will have however for this I did not.
Did it hurt me? No, because I still made profit.
Could I have got more? Hell yeah. A LP would have presold the consumer before they got to the run of the mill sales page.
Re the results, I got 3 sales from 80 odd clicks. At this point I got rid of the non converting keywords and added some more, recommended by Bing. That brought the average CPC way done, however it resulted in only 1 more sale in 40 clicks.
Some may say I got these results by accident. I disagree. I chose an offer that would relate to women who werent happy with their figure, in particular, the boobies. It didnt require them to buy upfront, or sign up to anything, just pay the shipping.
This was an offer that had an emotional tug, not an email submit. This was something they needed, not wanted. Remember that.
Next time I will take a few days off work and put some more time into it.
