CPC 0.14 / RPM 1.41 - Why?

Hello,

Unfortunately, I have very low earnings with adsense and I have no idea why.
CPC 0.14 USD
RPM 1.41 USD

I truly consider to switch to another program if it won't get any better soon.

Most of my visitors are from USA, see image:


My niche is very general, because the website is about viral content.
But I still don't believe that it should be the reason for these low earnings.

What can I do to increase it?

    What Ad units are you using? a good way to increase your CPC is moving away from "recomended" ad units, since there is to much competition among the publishers. your CTR looks pretty good, even to good - 10% ?

    Use more responsive units, play with background colours of your website (might be just a hunch, but different backgrounds, were showing different ads for me), use more large units (Skyscrapper, big leaderboard), and avoid textblock links.



    Also make sure that the Ad unit with highest CTR is the first in your source code (first to load / first from top) this way it will get the highest value CPC bid.
