People enjoy adsense for a number of reasons:
1) They have the most advertisers out of all other contextual ad networks. Therefor, the bids for different keywords/keyphrases are usually higher than at other places, meaning the webmaster will make more with them.
2) Since they have so many advertisers, they have good relevant ads for all niches, this means more clicks for the webmaster.
3) They're owned by Google which has a great reputation, which means the webmaster knows he or she will be paid and not scammed.
4) They offer webmasters more customization abilities then other networks. For example, I can choose to only display banner ads (images), or only display text ads..etc.

You place a code on your website that Google provides and when you drive traffic to your website, some people will click on those ads.

If you want to succeed with Google Adsense for the long term, just make sure that you never click on your ads. They will catch you if you do this even by accident.

And what happens if you are catched? I mean, what happens with the site? Could it be blocked or something like that?

Absolutely you will get blocked from Google and also your sites reputation will be degraded to a great extent. All i can say that if once blocked for a genuine reason yo'll never be able to generate revenue from that site.
So try avoiding these silly mistakes fro your site and also for your blogging career.

  Well, you need to create quality content to get accepted. I see many people cry why they not get approve their account with 100+ content.
  It is better to create some high quality content than 100 low quality content.
  And you need to follow their program policies what is allowed or not allowed.

Adsense is one of the biggest publisher program for making money. I've been with them almost 8 years and they never banned to me. You can use only one account for getting clicks on your Adsense account.

If you are publishing unique content on your websites than you can go with Google AdSense else look for any other alternatives because Google AdSense love unique, original content
