Hi Guys,

I was thinking that there are so many who are earning through blog so I can too, however now it seems to impossible.

I am having a blog and I write there about some technical stuff (Software Testing) , the content is good. however I am getting low traffic as this topic is very specific. And I guess this is the reason I am earning very less per click, Following is the information from adsense.

CTR: 0.51%
RPM: $ 0.44
CPC: $ 0.09

My montly traffic is about 6k page views and out of which 40% is of US and rest from India. This is also one of the reason why income is so less.

I know one way to increase the income is, increase the traffic. So would someone please let me know how to increase the traffic. ?

Also, is there any way to increase CTR, without changing the niche, Search the keyword like webdriver, software automation. I write blog about it.

Its good to hear that your blog is getting a good traffic. As you have already said that your content is good and you are optimizing your site. So try following things, hope 1 of them works for you:
    1. Try better keyword targeting.
    2. Also try using synonyms of you keyword for multiple targeting.
    3. Try building more quality back-links it will increase yours sites repo.
    4. Try using less competitive keywords and initially gain more google trust and later concentrate over high competition.

Hope above tips works for you.Feel free to share your issue....Best of luck!

      Hi gaurang033,

Your chosen niche "Software Testing" is famous for low CTR on ads, and relatively low AdSense earnings. So please bear that in mind. However, there are things you can do to improve earnings.

As a publisher, your job is to attract an audience for your advertisers. First, ask yourself what your audience buys most often, and pays the highest price for in your chosen niche. Then start writing about those products or services in a way that helps your audience to decide which products or services are right for them and why they should invest in those products or services. This will attract both advertisers, and the customers who purchase from your advertisers.

If your audience is made up of mostly employees, consider the needs of employees in your niche, perhaps training and certifications, or job finding tips. If your audience includes a lot of business owners, then find out which vendors are doing the most advertising in your niche, study their products and services and become an expert adviser to anyone considering purchasing those products, or services.

The bottom line is that you can write about whatever you want to write about, but throw a bone to your advertisers every now and then and they will likely throw a bone, or two, back at you.

Some niches pay more per click than others.

You could have one site with a high paying niche and make more money with less visitors and less clicks.

But for the lower paying niche you may need more visitors to get more clicks to make more money.

The competition of this keyword is very high, so usually you get less traffic. Post your blog in High PR sites and share that link is different social networking sites, may this tactics will improve your stats.

Earning money with your niche is indeed tough. So, to answer the question in the title, yes it really is all about the niche and traffic.
Different niches generate different incomes, yours is one that's indeed famous for low earnings. However, if you manage to increase your number of visitors, you'll most likely see an increase of your earnings.
