Hey Guys. I ran across some attorney's that need someone to run there google adwords campaigns for them. They said they tried it in the past, but didnt do so well with it. And they found out i was in the internet marketing industry and asked if i could do it for them. How would i go about setting this up for these guys? Have never sold google ppc as a service. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi nmvt,

AdWords advertising is a specialty that requires a lot of knowledge and expertise to be successful. So here are a few options to consider:
    1. Refer the business to an agency - Attorneys are familiar with the concept of specialization and referrals, it is standard practice for Lawyers to refer clients to specialists so they will likely appreciate being referred to a specialist.
    2. Sub-contract it out to an agency - Keep the client and outsource the work to a Google Partner agency that is certified by Google to have the experience, knowledge and maintains a verifiable record of best practices.
    3. Use this opportunity to become a specialist - If your goal is to become an AdWords specialist then use this opportunity to learn how to manage AdWords campaigns. Bear in mind that there is a steep learning curve and you are likely to make a lot of mistakes, each will likely cost your clients money. If you go this route I encourage you to hire a certified AdWords specialist to coach you and hopefully prevent you from losing too much of your clients money while you are learning the craft. At the very least let your clients know that you are new to AdWords and you are learning so that you don't end up getting sued, afterall you are dealing with lawyers

Thanks for the reply bro! Think ima try #3

Was thinking maybe i would just let the google adwords account specialist set everything up for me, since they do it for free. I called the 1-800 number in my adwords account. And then just check the account & manage it after that.

        Hi nmvt,

Sure, they will have one of their entry level employees setup you account, however you should not expect their very basic account setup to be adequate for a competitive niche.

To use an analogy, that's bit like having a yellow belt Tae Kwon Do student spend one hour showing you a high block, a low block, a punch, and a kick to prepare you for a tournament against 3rd & 4th degree Black belts. I don't have to tell you how that is going to work out, do I?

You just might need a bit more training than that, if you know what I mean.

Anyway good luck with it, and let us know how it works out.

Dude, if you don't know anything about PPC then give it to someone who does, lawyers and attorneys is one of the last niches you want to "learn" on.

I think that's how penicillin was discovered.

Did you tell the client that you don't deal specifically in PPC? You'll find it much different than SEO. But if you don't mind learning (big learning curve), as dburk said, use this to expand your business into that area.

But best to refer to someone else or joint venture with a specialist. You could even learn from one. It will be better for you and your client, at least in the beginning. I do this myself with others in the internet marketing industry which don't do PPC.

Warning that you don't know what kind of setup someone at Google will do. In my experience, somewhat of a crap shoot. So going that way, you may not learn much and not do your clients any favors.
