Help a rookie - How to maximize the monetizing of your blog

A few weeks ago I started my own blogspot. I have about 200 - 400 visitors a day and I want to monetize my blog.

Now I have no clue at all where to start. I got an email from adsense that I could get started but I don't get it at all, so I really need a step by step guide.

It's mostly a food blog and in my blogs I'm mentioning brands, so do I have to contact companies myself?

I seem to get codes but then people see codes on my website and no ads.
I've never been a PC pundit, so I was wondering if any good souls could tell me what to do. It's all very unclear now.

    There are a number of ways you could monetize your blog,

    As I am not sure of the nature or visitors demographics of your blog other than food, It's hard to know what ads you could display. But here are a number of ways.

    Clickbank - Clickbank has a number of products in the food and cooking niche - from cookbooks, diet books etc. Even believe one time in my ventures I found a product that teaches people how to make restaurant (Brand) foods at home for example.

    CPA Offers - There are CPA offers out there that might work some are simple email submits ranging from free starbucks gift card offers, all the way to get a free iphone offers. There are a lot of others, Seen email submit offers for McDonald,s and subway even

    Adsense - You could ad google adsense to your site, If someone clicks the link, you get paid an amount per click.

    Does your Blog serve more men vs women?, both? age? Is your blog contain information on healthy eating etc?

    knowing this will help determine what types of monetizing options you have and what ads you may want to test.
