I have been getting positive ROI with Facebook ads. However, My Google ads have been getting negative ROI lately. So much so, I have discontinued it until I get help to help me fix my ads and strategy. Can you guys help or know of an expert that can help me get profitable Google ads? I have been reading Perry Marshall's book to fix my problems but no luck so far. Any suggestions?

My Twitter ads have also been getting negative ROI. But, that is another story, another thread.

Are you actually following the advice of Perry Marshall's book? Keep optimizing. Otherwise your product may have too low profit margin for Adwords in that niche.

98% conversion on what, getting the visitor to load the site?

Instead of trying to optimize google adwords I would highly recommend looking into offline traffic sources. What you do is drive traffic from the real world through mediums such as trade publications and PURL postcards directly to your website.

I really cant describe how much better the traffic is in comparison to what online has to offer. You'll have to see for yourself. But it's the best traffic I've ever found and it's highly cost effective. Builds lists of solid gold too.

I've grown to very much dislike PPC due to it's inherent lack of stability. Who knows what's around the next corner with these big companies. I prefer more stable and higher quality traffic sources because it increases feelings of security and happiness.

Just a thought you might want to consider. PM me if you have any questions...

Bill Jenkins is an alleged scammer. One would do well to do some due diligence on his prior wso claims, or better yet steer clear completely. He's obviously trying to flood the forum with postings while the moderators are off on the holiday weekend.

Are you running the same ads on Adwords as you do on Facebook? If so, you can easily see where your Adwords campaign performance is lacking.

Check your CTR and CR to see where the most significant differences between your Adwords and Facebook ads are.

In order to fix your ROI problems, you're going to have to provide us with more information.

What is your Max CPC bid? Conversion Rate? Are you using negative keywords?

A good way to increase ROI with Adwords is by increasing the quality score of your keywords. Over time, A higher quality score reduces your average CPC which in turn will increase your ROI.

Also, make sure that your ads are targeted to the right audience. Only use Broad match types with your keywords for testing purposes. Then, after you have some data in hand, use the Search Terms Report to filter through any unwanted traffic by adding negative keywords to your Ad groups.

There is much to learn with Google AdWords. I would suggest you hire an expert to get you out of this situation ASAP since you are currently losing money.

        Hi intertech,

Sorry I didn't catch your post earlier, I've been very busy lately and hadn't had much time to spend on the forum.

I see that you have gotten a variety responses, many asking you for specific data, however I must say that some of the questions you have been getting aren't going to help anyone help you because most seem to be asking for metrics on aggregate data, which is pretty much worthless for PPC marketing.

When it comes to marketing success on AdWords, it is all about targeting and market segmentation. Looking at aggregate data metrics tells you virtually nothing about your specific targeting choices and how each are performing.

For best results manage your AdWords campaigns at the keyword level, resist the temptation to make decisions on the aggregate data. Chances are that some keywords are profitable and some will not be profitable. Making changes in bids can often bring keywords from a loss to a profit., if not just pause those keywords and put more time and money into the profitable keywords.
