Who still does this and has had success?

Also, with regards to quality score, how quickly and how badly is your quality score affected by having a one page site specifically engineered to drive traffic to an affiliate offer?

    Google, as you probably know, have 7 general types of quality score. When it comes to landing pages, they look for navigability, honesty, transparency, relevancy, originality. None of which should honestly concern you that much if you're taking a white hat approach. Concerning your lander: without knowing your niche, the best advice I can offer is to look at competing landers. I've spent months - literally - optimizing just one lander (I mean, I do other stuff like scratch my nose and drink espresso, but you get my drift). If you look at other landers, emulate them, you'll often be benefiting from months of testing and research.

    A lot of marketers till do this. You need to have a solid funnel and your keywords need to be established and convert well to even make it worthwhile. A high ROI is what you want.

    Google hates affiliates. With a one page site you can expect a poor quality score and you will have to bid high in Adwords to make up for it.

    I would suggest you start with Bing or Yahoo first. Both have enough traffic to get rich from. Personally I don't even bother with Google anymore.

    Bing gets my vote, too.

    The trick (well, one of them) is to provide a free, helpful, often original service.

    That just so happens to lead to affiliate offers...
