Hi

Just about to kick off my first remarketing campaign. Should I direct the clickers to:

1. the landing page they left?
2. a customized landing page for my remarketing audience?
3. my homepage (I assume not this option but I had to ask!)?

Thanks.

Depends there are a lot of choices.

Big question would be when you retarget them are you looking to guide them back to the same offer or a different one?

I assume you are taking them back to same offer

Thanks quadagon. I would be looking to guide them back to the same offer. My product is animated video. I create animated videos for businesses and these companies would put the videos up on their website. So it's the same product (same pricing) even though each individual video will be unique to that customer, my offer is always the same. I charge per animated minute of video.

    Cheers.

There is possibility that they left because your initial offer were not good enough.

    You should consider this.

  • It depends but typically to the same offer. Say a car dealer that sells Ford, Toyota and Pontiac. If I was checking out only their Ford section, they would want to remarket to me with an ad about Fords and not mention the other two. The site should be set up properly so that I land on the main Ford page.

Same for say any big box store. If I was looking at cameras on Best Buy's site, it would be best for them to remarket only cameras to me, not computers or anything else. They might entice me with a specific model, maybe a sale on that model. That's how remarketing should be intelligently used.

In your case, you have just one product essentially - creating a video. Maybe your home page is the main page so it might be OK to send the clicks there. But you could have a page just for those on your remarketing list with a different message. You could entice them with a time-limit discount in the ad and on the page. I've heard of many using remarketing very effectively this way.
