I was browsing on my mobile phone for apparel and viewed certain products on x website through Google search results. Later, when i was browsing Facebook on my computer, i saw ads of that products from that x website's page in Facebook newsfeed. How is it even possible? How did they link my facebook account on my pc with my browsing activity on my mobile (I was logged in in facebook in another tab, but that's not how retargeting works right?)

    Facebook has retargeting system. Which means they gave you a code, you put this in your web site and then you can show your ads to your web site visitors.

    Just read an article on Gizmodo. Facebook apparents tracks browsing history as well.
