Anyone experienced with Google AdWords Customer Match (Email Lists)?

Looking to hire someone who has used this feature in Google and can help me use it.

Even the Google reps when you call in don't even know what it is!

It's a total pain to use.

Please let me know if you can manage campaigns for a reasonable fee and are aware of this feature enough to be familiar with it.

Thanks!

    Hi there

Not quite the answer to your request, but I'm just putting the finishing touches to a Special Report on Google Customer Match, releasing next Tuesday 27 October.

You can see the details and pre-order here: Customer Match | Google's new email matching solution for AdWords

    Cheers

  • Have not used it yet as I've just recently been aware of it. It's basically a remarketing campaign using your email list. Not sure yet how to best use it, I can think of only one or two of my clients where this could be beneficial. Seems to me that the email would need to be a gmail address so it has limitations. Maybe Michael has more insights into this.

      Hi BigWealthTeam,

It's a relatively new feature and I have been experimenting with it for some of my agency clients. I have actually developed a list of strategies to implement and test. I see so many possibilities with this new feature.

Here are some things to consider:
      • Use only 1st party email lists, where the customer registered directly with your business.
      • clean the list before uploading, make sure they are all valid emails, all lowercase, one email per line.
      • Make sure that you have a link where your customers can opt out of the list and that it works correctly.
      • Make sure your landing pages have a link to a privacy policy that discloses that you share customer data with 3rd parties to provide services on your behalf.
      • Make sure that your business complies with all local policies regarding email marketing.
      • Split large lists into smaller sub lists.

The 2 areas that I have focused on to use this new feature is targeting eCommerce customers at specific intervals after their last purchase. Just like you might do on a Remarketing campaign, but this audience list has the advantage of spanning devices.

The other area I'm very excited about is using the customer email lists in combination with marketing automation for lead nurturing programs. Again, something we do now with Remarketing, but this has the potential to span multiple devices and reach people that did not provide their email through our clients' website.

Essentially Customer Match is just another Audience list to use in your Remarketing campaigns. Uses of these lists are numerous, because you can control precisely who is on each list and create as many lists as needed. When you consider that these lists can also be used in combination with other audience lists, it dramatically increases the possibly strategies that can be tested. So many lists, so little time.
