For those of you who are advertising in PPC, which country or countries do you advertise mostly to? And What's your reason for choosing that country (or countries). Do state your niche as well.

    I do mostly UK. The products which I promote are on the UK market only. People in the UK use internet a lot of various of services and that's why it's a great market. Also it is less competitive compare to the US.

  • Advertise where it makes sense for the business. I have many clients. One is a chiropractor so he advertises locally about 10 miles around his business, wouldn't make sense to advertise to the whole country. Some others advertise locally with varying distances from their business depending on the type of business, one covers four states or parts of them. Another throughout the US (but not Hawaii or Alaska because of high shipping cost). He could advertise to Canada but with low dollar and likely having to pay duties as well as the shipping fee, they are less inclined to buy. Another is a UK business. Yet another is all English-speaking countries as it's a web-based service.

    So where and how you advertise will largely depend on your business.

    Country will depend on the offers you're promoting. If you are promoting offers that are only accepted from lets say the UK, Canada you would only do a PPC campaign to UK, and Canada audience.

    It wouldn't make much sense to market it anywhere else if the offer isn't accepted there. It would be money down the drain!

    On the other hand if your offers are accepted world wide you would need to do some testing in each country to see which one is converting the best for you.

    This simply depends on the product/service you're going to promote. First you'll need to do research about that product/service or problems that product/service going to resolve. Do a proper keyword research and don't forget to check the trends related to that service/product, because some searches are seasonal and don't lasts for whole year. These are best tools to check trends and for keyword research:

    www.Google.com/trends
    https://adwords.google.com/KeywordPlanner

    Do a proper research and check which region is searching more for that specific service/product and then target that region. Trends give you an idea about the months that are best to promote in that specific niche and specific region.

    I sometimes try global audiences, although for most of my products, I try to advertise to English-speaking audiences due to the language barrier.

    Maybe I should try product translations :p

    We currently advertise in a lot of countries, mainly Russia and Brasil.
    However, I have to admit that South America is a really interesting market, as it is developing incredibly quickly and well. Moreover, people are really willing to listen to what you have to tell them.
