Investments for testing ads. How much?

So I finally decided to jump on CPA marketing via paid ads, learn it and make millions. I have a video course about CPA from StackThatMoney Affiliate Marketing Forum forum, I had heard only good words about what course. So my main question is, how much money i need to have in order to properly test the campaigns and find winners. I am very afraid to lose all money for testing ads and end up with empty wallet... So before I take any action, I need to know how much approximately I need to have money for testing ads/campaings?
